Hi DA friends!This is my last digital paint inspired on my AU Omegaverse novel based on Yuri on Ice.
Toronagashi means literally "Lanterns stream" and it's a part of Obon Festival, a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one's ancestors.
As usual comments are very welcome!

I really enjoy the rich warm glow to this piece. It almost envelops me as I look deeper into it. This may sound odd as well, but I like the hard shading across the knuckles on the left hand, it has a really appealing graphical quality. The bright red strands of hair over the edge glow greatly enhance the depth and magical quality of the picture. And the silky smooth rendering on the lips, nose, and eyes is beautiful.
Taking a look at your gallery, this is actually one of your softer and seemingly quicker pieces, given that half of your work is fantasy paintings featuring incredible detail and lighting, like this one , and the other half is some of the best photo-manipulations I have ever seen. I especially love this piece and this piece . I'm glad I make sure to dig deeper into the galleries of people who post to my thread, cause I'm often shocked by the incredible work they do outside of their fan-art.

This is absolutely gorgeous <3 I love seeing a drawing related to Obon; my mother has very fond memories of it and though I've never experienced a festival, I have always loved the concept of it <3 This drawing showcases Japanese culture very beautifully and I adore all the little details~ Very elegant job, dear
