Description
Whoโs to say there are not worlds out there where advanced races visit each other in peace. With this in mind I have painted a craft-height view of one of these worlds, showing the large docking towers reaching towards the Stratosphere. These structures surrounded by the immense civilisation of this distant world.This image will be part of my update to VA in the next week or so.
Original size - 5k wide
About 20 hours or so.
Painted in Adobe Photoshop with a Wacom Intuos 2 tablet.

This picture became the inspiration for an ancient alien city in my novel "The Orion Project II: Redemption." Because of the dark clouds and the arc at the very top, I always imagined this city in the depths of an enormous cave with a false light source in the distance. It remains one of my favorites to this day. ย Well done.

Love the design; one of my favorites! But I'm not so sure about the likelihood of peaceful alien interactions. The odds are that some will be so advanced they might have trouble seeing lesser advanced races as intelligent enough to take seriously.
But you are right. In a universe so large it's possible there is such a place!

The thing that grabbed my attention first with this was the colour scheme which produces a sort of vibrancy between the warm pinks and cool blue-greens. Then when I looked closer I was overwhelmed by the sense of colossal scale. I think the simple effectiveness of the colouring helps to unify the complexity of the cityscape. The city seems to be both futuristic and organic at the same time - if only it was possible to see a place like this in real life!
