I've heard that people who lost their sight later in life still see images in dreams, while people who have been blind all their life experience dreams through their other senses...

If they were born blind, then they don't see their dreams. However, they hear their dreams quite vividly.
Those who were born sighted but went blind at some point in their life, then they can see their dreams.

If they were born blind, most likely not.
If they went blind after age 5-7, then they will most likely have some vision in their dreams.
I had a speaker come to my school and this was asked.

depends
if they have never seen before, they usually have "auditory dreams"
if they have been able to see before in their life, can have a dream with vision
