My entry for kub-e 's (DTA) Coukyo contest!

I just love those warm colors <3 I grew up in California and the state flower there is the poppy! Particularly the bright orange ones, I always walked past hundreds of them growing wild on my way to the bus stop. Orange quickly grew to be my favorite color, and though that's for many reasons, I know one of them is the fields full of poppies I lived nearby as a child. So I feel a particular attachment to this little one!

I tried a really soft, painterly-like style of coloring to do something a little different than what I'm used to, to try and do this lovely character some justice. I think it came out pretty!
