More ink practice, went for a black background so that his highlights would pop. Black animals are a challenge for me to try and render, because they're so dark and it's hard to show form/expression. I think the dark background really helped, and it was good practice for me to paint this. This is Al Catcino, another senior cat available for adoption through a local cat rescue that I donate portions of my pet portraits to.
