Here's the story behind this picture!

It's a clear noon day, just a week or two before summer, the sky is so stunningly blue you could be lost in it and the billowing clouds are so cottony and perfect it feels as though you can feel it in your face.
A single contrail overhead, the very symbol of hope and freedom, tying the sight together like a ribbon.

It is under this crystal sky that we meet our heroines.

One, the younger by maybe seven or so years, exudes such a pure and bright-eyed excitement for the world that you feel yourself bouncing along with her energy at the sight of it.
Her skater skirt, candy-pink with youthful spirit, her camisole, decorated with a flawless bubbly heart, both shimmer iridescent, and catch the light the same way they catch the attention of all who see her, her transparent raincoat fitting her form like a best friend. The collar at her neck, silvery with a ring proudly in the front, suggesting both style and playfulness.
Her cheerful pink hair sits lightly upon her face and down to her shoulders, adorned with a single delicate cherry blossom on one side, framing her face preciously.
Her butterfly wings, like stained-glass starlight, flutter behind her intermittently, to the tempo of her emotions, agreeing or disagreeing with her friend's story as she eagerly listens.
Her sky blue eyes promising the first days of spring.
The other girl, her senior, recounting an experience to her with a sort of wicked poise and confidence that you feel drawn in to her every word.
Her velvet black dress, past the knees, the evil queen of many a ballroom waltz; the sheer floral lace sleeves screaming Power in her every hand movement. Pearls, draped in a chain from her sash tying the dress, which would dangle tantalizingly with her movements were she not seated. The v-neck of the dress spacious, but not deep, accentuating her frame more than her sexual assets. A silver necklace, carrying the image of the seven-pointed Elven Star, which is clearly storied.
Her hair looks like it could have come from another world. Shiny black hair, short and wild and blooming like a violent rose; red streaks overtaking the black like a proliferating garden. Two magnificent red roses, the second smaller than the first, that regally adorn her hair on one side, tied over a black ribbon and adorned with a few draped pearls.
Her eyes, striking hazel like a fine champagne, with such a wicked and confident smirk as though she is keenly aware that every word she utters bends the world to her whim. This woman is a monster and loves it, but in her expression there is also joy and compassion, as she gracefully delivers a delightful story to her best friend, reveling in being enrapturing.

There is magic in the air here-- the kind of magic one might encounter in Faerie, the scenery itself blooming and molding around their very energy, in vibrant sakura blossoms on the trees, expressing their vigor and awe, and in the roses at their heels, in their full and seductive reds.
As they sit on the wooden ornate bench side by side, enjoying their respective drinks-- boba and hot coffee-- while sharing their respective passions, an ordinary city park around them pops and unfolds into something enchanting and otherworldly.
