As Aristotle said once: "The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance." This image not only caught my attention because of the outward appearance which describes for itself suffering, psychotic disorder and lack of sleep, but the concept itself sends a message of the feeling of insomnia and some other psychiatric illness, I feel identified with the character. it might not be the best critique ever, and it might not be as consistent as other, but all I can tell is that criticism is not always a bad thing! so keep up your work! ARTIST!

This image struck me and drew me in. As an insomniac, this immediately hit uncannily close to home. The scarce background and way the character is holding their hands combined with the way the ink makes them look detached and ambiguous is perfect. The intense stare really captures the intensity and frustration of insomnia. Something about the black lines connecting the figure to the bottom of the page is unsettlingly accurate. The contrast between the bare whiteness of the page and the blackness of the lines really sharpens the area between being awake and being asleep, where insomnia takes people. I think this piece is beautiful and powerful. Your style is incredible, and I definitely look forward to seeing more of your work.

I really like the execution! If you concentrate closely enough on the bags under the eyes and ignore the irises, it almost looks like the person is asleep. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but great work nonetheless!

Pretty accurate representation of how I feel most nights when I'm lacking in sleep meds.
Insomnia is maddening. I can't stand the feeling of not being rested, of having struggled all night trying to get in even an ounce of sleep, not knowing when next I'll be able to get an actual decent sleep...

Uuuh. I just watched the movie "Insomnia" (by Christopher Nolan) and had a sort of a dΓ©jΓ vu, looking at your picture.

This is outstanding! I can totally relate to this piece of beautiful artwork.
The most drawing part of this is the eyes. When ever I have lack of sleep, due to insomnia or even staying up too late working on my art, my eye's seem to be the only part of me that I can feel. The way the colour is only set in the eyes reminds me of the burn they get, the itching desire to close for the night.. Also the whole expression is perfect.
Definite favorite right here!
