Bad pose... the fighter on the left is waaaaaaay open... that thiing on your arm is not a counterweght... it's a shield... it belongs between you and your opponent not way out of the way.

Sorry... but I can't stand this use of shields.

unless it's to provoke a deliberate action from his opponent The guy on the right would of need to already be reacting to the over telegraphing to take advantage. Now If guy on left steps out to his right, he threatens the whole side of his opponents body including his leg, yes he's exposed but his opponent will need to get his leg out of there, so most likely a step back exposing the other side of his body to half step and shield strike which he would struggle to stop with the messer/falchion (can't quite see which), oh oh except throwing his front leg back with body weight still forward and trust to the face point hidden until the last second like in i.33, ok just killed my own argument..... you're right silly move.

Very cool pic though and I really appreciate the stock!

sorry... the first got more rambly than expected... the second comment should be more helpful with tips how to make it better next time.

Oh... I forgot: the guy on the right is overswinging, too... even for epic heroic telegraphic... the sword is way too far back. Straight up at max, shield in front... height of hand is good though

and for the right guy I would have chosen a high guard... but I'm more a longsword fighter... with shield a low sword stance against a high attack is ok

Straight up is much better. Both for timing and for and because of the advantages of striking down from above.
