I finally figured out how to take the date off my camera! anyway here is a drawing of johnny on bristol paper with graphite 2b and 6b charcoal pencils. the picture from the 1997 vanity fair mag. what do you think?Related content

Very good job! You should just smooth a little bit the darkest shadings on his face, but this looks very much like him! Well done

thanks for the tip on shading. I used charcoal in the dark areas and sometimes its hard to blend it in just right. I used a tissue for shading the skin areas.

This one is lovely- I'm looking at your gallery, and something tells me you might fancy Johnny just a bit. Heh. However, the darkness under his eyes should not be so apparent- it should be a more subtle I-didn't-get-much-sleep-last-night-if-yo u-get-me sort of look. Heh. Very nice, though.

to blend in the graphite or the charcoal I use puffs tissues!
