My first Art Trade! Yayy, so fun!
Trade for who asked for her cute chubby cat girl OC, Tsukiko. I thought to make her look like she's on a date, and her partner pointed to her if she keeps eating ice cream, they only get cuter.

I'm sorry, but it didn't seem any form of critique to me, I really appreciate that you like this, I seriously do! But it really didn't seem a legit to me, what it didn't have is anything, that tells what you see to work and what doesn't, what it achieves and what doesn't, what did I achieve with the picture.

What they do is to give a feedback on what is well done and what lacks and thus, what I can keep doing and I need to improve on. You wouldn't want to lose customers to your restaurant if your food doesn't improve on what fails. Take a look on Assassin's Creed's first two game's reviews, AC 1 had decent reviews, but was a success, but if they wanted to keep doing a franchise that holds that success, they had to fix faults and what happened with AC 2? It claimed a critical acclaim and thus became more successful! Of course sometimes it's hard to see faults, but critiques and comments alike are people's opinions, but point of critiques is to tell the authors to improve. And making critiques is hard if you don't know the field you're reviewing, and trust me, I really know what it's like, I tried to review an AMV many years ago and I didn't know what I was doing and only ended up confusing the maker and it did not help him at all. There is nothing wrong with positive critiques at all, it usually mean that things has been done right.
And now stating the fact? How is rambling how cute she is and wanting to be her little sister etc. is helpful to me? If you posted that as a comment, I would've been fine with it, but if you want to be an art critic here on DA, you have to try to look deeper and see both positive and negative things in the works and bring them up. Critiques are here to help the creators to be better.
