So, may i present: My first oil painting!I'm a great Phantom of the Opera-Musical Fan and the character of the Red Death always fascinated me. When the Phantom first appeared on the big staircase during the masquerade ball at the beginning of the second act of the musical, i was so impressed!! Unfortunatelly there are only few good picutres of this fantastic costume.... Until i found a flyer/leaflet of the London production. "The Phantom of the Opera - The most haunting musical" (or something similar ^^°
I was soo happy when i saw this advertisment 
And so true!! ^^ Well, the music of ALW has haunted me down for 8 years now 
"Lange Rede kurzer Sinn" -as we Germans say:
I love the Red Death which is why i chose him for my first attempt with oils

I hate the fact that I've never been able to see the actual musical. I did see what someone shot on a camera, though it was low quality, and this looks infinitely better. DAMMIT I WANNA SEE IT IN PERSON!

I remember in the book by Gaston Leroux, even though it isn't The Phantom, how Red Death stalks about the ball room and reaches out with a skeleton hand that was so lifelike that it made people run away when he poked them.

Think you should add some kind of background in the next one you make, since this one feels a little flat and makes the phantom stand out very much... Other than that a very nice and impressive painting!

Thank you very much! esprecially for the tip. By not adding a background, I tried to make the Phantom "come out of the pic" if you know what I mean... but you're right. Adding background makes it more 3D ^^
