Description This is a remake of my old work you may find in Scraps. There were many "shadow" spots on the wall, and I finally fixed it. Also I changed colors and put a HIDDEN TEXT on the wall, can you read it?

This stereogram made from my 2D photograph of the monument in Washington DC. I used Stereogram Lab software. Tile and Depth Map made in Photoshop.

well, i mean, it's sad that it says "The great depression", but i like how you hid the words in the bricks...

I love these stereograms! How do you make them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

3Dimka In reply to Czwartek [2009-03-17 02:27:44 +0000 UTC]

I write my own software to render stereograms. Some of my utilities, such as Stereogram Paint, Stereogram Photoshop Filter and Stereogram Lab are free and you can find them on hidden-3d.com

I never was able to see anything in these stereograms. I have seen many of those, but i just couldn't see the point. I have read that tutorial you posted, but that won't help either...

You really handle this with elegance and manage to elevate what could be a gimmick into an art form.

Well done!

Excellent work! It seems statuesque at first, but when you really see it, the effect is surreal, as if I'm staring out the window of a dark room at these people.

3Dimka In reply to mikabots [2006-04-13 00:48:57 +0000 UTC]

Tnx! And could you read the hidden text on the wall?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mikabots In reply to 3Dimka [2006-04-13 01:45:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, "The Great" seems to stand out more, like there's more contrast in the darker color of brick there. Are the text and wall actually the same in terms of sharpness? The background looks sharper, but I'm going to guess it only seems that way because the text appears to be closer to me.

Text made with old classical hidden image method, used by Magic Eye. I don't really like it because it makes difficult to recognize hidden objects, especially when it comes to a text. I prefer technique when texture isn't so abstract and fits 3D objects applied to. I've been polishing this technique but it yet takes too much time.

BTW, there's 2nd line in the hidden text

This one's great (I'd told you that before, I know )
I like the detail of the hidden text

(Oh, by the way: My current journal entry mentions you and your work explicitly at one point, I hope you don't mind. If you don't like it, just tell me)...

wow these things are neat, i definitely wouldnt mind seeing this type getting its own category, and maybe as a result compel people to make their own.

That would be great if people start to make and share their stereograms, I would share my experiance. Actualy this is what I've been doing in 3D-Stereograms group - [link]
And thank you for comments, Ryan, I apreciate it

Simple message I like that, thought I don't know why they call it "Great" I am sure the people there did not think it was

Like I had said I love this type of image, and this one is cool too. Do they still make books for this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

3Dimka In reply to ConjalPowernet [2006-04-07 02:30:09 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Conjal, Magic Eye Inc keeps making calendars and books for kids- [link]
Poor graphics though, they still using old DOS Salitsky Dot program and just don't want to improve anything...
Also Gene Levine keeps making his surrealistic stereograms, check his website - [link]
He published a book with Gary W. Priester - Eye Tricks. There are a lot of stereogram and it's very inexpensive - [link]
