It's because I shoot raw and during the conversion and output for web, the exif data is stripped from the image. Which I like because it helps with copyright issues.

Odd - I shoot RAW too but my EXIF stays in-tact. And how does stripping EXIF help with copyright issues?

Because if anyone tries to nick your images, you have the original exif and they don't. It's not a lot but it can help in proving that you took the image as you can mach it to your cameara. To be honest I don't know why ps strips it but none of my jpegs have it but the tiffs and raws do. Its just not something that I've ever been that bothered about but I know some people are. I don't see exif as being important apart from for filing and copyright purposes. Why would anyone else want or need to know it? It can't help in them getting better pictures as its all relevant to that day, time, location and particular shot.

Ah, interesting. Though I think I'll have to disagree with your last comment. I love to see EXIF in pics, be they on photoblogs or here on dA, and I find that they actually do help me with my own style. This is likely a personal preference, but of what I learn from others' photos, at least 20% comes from seeing their EXIF. This may manifest as seeing how a really great photo implemented (for instance) filters and aperture and shutter speed well, or how a less-than-perfect picture could have been improved by changing some value. I guess this stems from my view that photography is an art of trade-offs, as you change one set of values, you do so at the expense of others (think shutter speed, ISO, and graininess for an example). Seeing EXIF can help me see how far people can stretch these interactions before they totally break down .

Never really thought about it from that pov. I've never paid attention to exif from other peoples photo's because (I'm not saying I'm any good here by any stretch of the imagination)when I set out to create an image, I plan everything beforehand and if the environment doesn't give me what Im after, I just go back when it will. There is sometimes a bit of a trade off as you put it but I try to avoid shooting in situations where I have to compromise. This is of course with planned shots. With grab shots I take what I can get.

This might seem like a strange question.. but is your avvie a plush kitty backpack? It looks just like one my friend had, and I was curious.

Not a backpack, but just a plush toy. It's from Hamleys - a pretty well known retailer in London (or so I'm told ).
