how long have you had your holga? i've had my for only two months, but am really taking a liking to it. any tips/tricks that i could steal? :]

I've owned my Holga for about three years. There are some things you could do: modify the aperture to f8. That increases vignetting and makes the camera a little more usable in dark. Another thing you should do is ditch the film mask and put some black tape on the sharp edges to avoid scratching film (that also increases vignetting). Third thing you should try is a 35mm modification.
A general tip is to use the strengths of Holga (which are non-existent) by which I mean use the gray mass freed from the burden of setting the aperture to thinking about concepts and compositions.

thank you for the advice- but i don't understand the second part. you mean the focus setting has no effect on the image? what's the "gray mass" piece you spoke of?

Aperture setting without modification has no effect on the image. By gray mass I mean neuron-rich part of brain which is used for thinking I'm sorry, I have a tendency to be a little cryptic every once in a while.
