I was reading your debate on [link] and I have a question.

What are your views on euthanasia(sp)? Personally, I'm for it, if it can be proved that the vegetable will remain a vegetable, but you seem to think otherwise, and I need a debate to entertain me.

Hmm well I've not really thought about it. I guess euthanasia is ok for people suffering (emphasis on suffering there!) from terminal illnesses and they are mentally stable and capable of giving their full consent.

However vegetables sometimes do have a chance of waking up again and although they've lost a chunk of their life it's still their life and they have the right to it. The difference between a foetus and a vegetable is that the vegetable has HAD the life, they've learnt, they've grown, they've had the experience. To me that gives them the right to grasp onto that life. A foetus hasn't begun that path so I feel as a last resort abortion is ok.
