Miss Joanne, popping in to send you my Best Wishes and remind you that whenever you feel untalented all you need do is show somebody else your deviantArt Gallery - if they fail to recognise your talent then they must be either visually-impaired, exceptionally foolish or (worst of all) Absolutely Tasteless.

Please be assured that you remain Quality, a Gifted Talent and Inspirational even when the Imp of Inner Cruelty whispers self-deceit in a desperate bid to bottle up your talent - please make sure you treat that unfriendly little voice with the robust dismissal it so richly merits! (or failing that just draw yourself horse-whipping it from pillar to post, in the Regency-approved fashion).

Keep Well, Keep the Faith and most importantly of all Keep Drawing!

Thank you!! I really appreciate the good wishes. I am currently struggling with the January post-holiday doldrums, so it's particularly nice to read your eloquent letter of appreciation right now! <3

Libra1010 [2018-06-02 15:20:02 +0000 UTC]

Miss Joanne, a concept recently suggested itself to me and I would be very grateful for your opinion - the mental image was of a lady who had modelled for the statue we now know as the "Venus de Milo" and who, after some everyday hardship in later life, walked to the temple where her image was the local Idol and was very happy to contemplate her modest share of immortality (I'm tempted to imagine a child or grandchild in attendance).

Now the reason I would like to seek your opinion is twofold:-

 - Firstly, I would like to ask how closely this lady ought to resemble her statuary counterpart; should the resemblance be subtle or blatant after the model has aged & acquired character the Venus will never know?

 - Secondly, may I please ask what colouration you think the Living Venus should have? (I'm tempted to steal outright from Botticelli's Birth of Venus, but that might be a little TOO on-the-nose!).

Thank You in advance for your consideration and please allow me to send you my Best Wishes for yourself & your career in illustration.

Miss Joanne, please pardon me for asking a question out of the blue, but if you were commissioned to illustrate Count Dracula would you prefer a short or a detailed description? (since the character is so famous that Everyone has their own idea of the old bloodsucker).

Many thanks for the enchanting paintings and drawings from your sale, which arrived safely after all their travels. Darling, beautiful little Max and the other boys are now happily ensconced in the flat (the house was once home to William Etty as a teenaged apprentice!). They will be cherished dearly.
