Hi dawn! thanks for your heartwarming message.
Honestly life's been tough since we last spoke.
I've needed to stay away from art and social media for a while.
The weekly critique project was a great idea. I agree that it could help people. But it took too much time and energy out of me.
I'm currently trying to rethink my goals and aspirations as an artist, but making it my main career is no longer really on the table. I need something more stable in order not to get overwhelmed by life in general.
I may start posting here again but I doubt I'll go back to being as active as I used to. Though I still lurk around here from time to time and always try to respond to people and I'm always willing to talk with people who want to (though that doesn't tend to happen very often).
In the meantime I've been working on less ambitious creative projects in order to get the pressure out of art and the fun back in. For example, drawing things for myself that nobody will ever see or making maps for Total War Warhammer or dabbling in gouache.
I hope I'm not being too much of a downer.
Your art seems to be pretty healthy. I hope things are going well for you.
