Today starts our contest with the theme "Portraits" at the group AllArtSupport.
What do we want to see?
Good art, amazing portraits, all kind of traditional or digital portraits, photography or photomanipulated portraits.
But what are portraits?
"Portraits are works of art that record the likenesses of humans or animals that are alive or have been alive."
"Portrait is a likeness of a person, especially of the face, as a painting or a drawing."
- So, can you submit fantasy, an imaginary face?

So, what is my idea for this contest?
To run a contest in 2 categories, Photography and Photomanipulation, with the theme "LIGHTs".
What do I want to see?
Anything related to light: it can be a candle, a fireplace, a rainbow, a strange glow, sun rays, xmas lights, dim light or bright light (but, please photographers, don't photograph the sun!: you'll ruin your camera, your eyes and ours!).

I actually didn't mean that you had to initiate conversation like this out of the blue if you didn't feel like it, but if I uploaded a photo that you liked, a comment or something telling me about it would be nice, and would start conversation. Because repeated visits without any interaction at all would otherwise leave me wondering what's going on :'D

I might just have to! I went to last years Nova, and, having been my first major con, I was so nervous. But now I see why everyone loves them so much! Do you get asked for many photos? I imagine you would.

Haha it depends on the costume! Usually if it's a really elaborate costume or a really popular character, I get asked for a lot of photos. If it's a less well-known character or more simple costume, there's less people asking. XD

I cosplayed as Alice from Madness Returns, and the cosplay wasn't accurate, but I had two shots taken of me, which was strange. I did get a lot of shots with people cosplaying stuff I love though. XD How do you deal with people asking for shots? I find it's a bit odd, personally.
I hope I do! Now that I'm saving I can actually buy merch now, too. XD

I've been cosplaying for so many years now, I'm used to it. It IS a little strange if it's the first time it's ever happened to you, but it's just a part of being on the con scene, so nothing to worry about!
