Are Olympus cameras good? O:
Like, what are the pros and cons of one?
I have a Nikon and kinda want to explore different cameras. :3

I don't recommend Olympus unless you have a lot of money to spend.
My camera is decent, and I only get the shots I do because I squeeze every last drop out of it.
They have some really nice high end cameras and lenses, but you'll have to spend a lot of money on them.
The sad thing about their lenses is that their selection is very limited, and very expensive. Plus because they use the weird Four-Thirds system, photos are formatted differently and don't get the high resolution that Cannon and Nikon provide (I shoot photos for Pet Food Express which are printed 40x60 inches and it makes it kinda hard to get the best quality), and the outside companies that make offbrand lenses for Olympus are very limited because of the odd format.
Bottom line is Olympus is a real pain in the ass to deal with, but if you're willing to put in the time and money you can get some incredible shots.
I highly recommend Nikon because of it's color quality and excellent selection of high quality lenses, but again the good stuff is expensive. I don't recommend anything below the D80, and if you're not into video then the D90 is a waste of time and money. But the high end Nikons (ie: D300) outshine most Cannons in it's range, except for when it comes to Cannon's TOP quality cameras which are without a doubt the best of the best (and the most expensive).
As far as venturing outside the realm of those three, I don't really recommend it. There are definitely some good cameras out there by other brands, but these are the top three to go with especially if you're going to need something professional.

Question for you, when you shoot a rally, are you free to leave?
Last one I shot, the police wouldn't let me leave the group and I was forced to stay in the main group of people until it was over. Do you get any issues with things like that?

I've never been forced to stay anywhere, nor have I ever been asked to leave. Perhaps Australia has different laws about it.

Ah fair enough. This was during WYD as well, but I had my little media tag on and wasn't taking part in the chanting or anything, and had an appointment I had to leave early for, and was basically made to stay by the line of police encircling the group...
Maybe it was just because they were worried I was going to go hit the WYD pilgrims with my camera, or something.
