thank you :D (Big Grin) i was just slightly butt hurt that things like styling and whatnot got me (waahhh D :) (Smile)

the way i see it, is that the only thing that had mattered was *design* of the coat, and everything else was extra. there should be a point system so participants know *exactly* what the judges are looking for, like 3 points for styling, 3 points for presentation (coloring, drawing style, etc), and so on. Though I understand why that would take too long considering all the entries. Still, the judging system was weird.

Yeah, we tried that with the points in past challenges and it took so long that some people just gave up... Well, the styling always matters, it either makes it or breaks it. With a different styling, a design can look dated or it can look trendy. However, in your case, the styling didn't matter as much in the ranking, as it did in the feedback.
I, personally, look at the overall look, see if I get what it's trying to be, then I look at the details to see if the design could actually be constructed, if the designer thought about the fabrics and seams and all that; because that's what I think fashion design is about, even though here we just have the illustrations. And I try to underline what I think is the strongest point and the weakest in each design.
Btw, I really like The Garden 1; I didn't think that color could actually look chic, but it does. I totally pictured it on a skinny model in a magazine editorial.

Understandable, though I think after that feedback, I *really* understood what the judges were *really* looking for, because when I designed it, I was kind of going derp derp whatever my gut told me.

And :D (Big Grin) D Thank you, that design got a strange amount of views, and editorial was just what i was going for! I'm quite fond of Marchesa-esque really girly romantic designs, but I wanted to a little edge, hence the design was born.
