Wow, Egyptian slang? Didn't know Egypt had slang but language is Universal so I shouldn't be surprised. I've met a couple people who are basically linguistic snobs, saying they hate slang and consider anyone who speaks it a idiot not worth their time. I told them for me it's self-expression, it's not like I speak it constantly 24-7 like it's all my lexicon is made up of, which is what they griped about. Either way to have that type of attitude is kinda dismissive to generalize anybody who speaks slang as ignorant and low-class.
Ok so I assumed Egyptians spoke Farsi not Arabic, or is it more than just 1 language there?

Hey dwayne so sorry for the late reply my friend, i've been busy with some work and i couldn't log on deviant for a while
well all the Muslim countries speak arabic but with variations in the grammar and expressions
the classic arabic like in the quran is the base it's kinda like Latin to the english french german spanich etc
and also there is a formal and street language to each country and the Egyptian slang is the most famous arabic slang XD , so we basically speak arabic , farsi is spoken in Iran only
and we speak nubian in the far south , and there are so many different accents in egypt itself depending on where you live XD

Wow, so basically it's like living here in Amerikkka or in the UK where people can tell what part of London or Great Britain you're from just by your accent. I will say people in the States are ignorant to that fact in general even to their own citizens, they hear a Country accent and automatically assume you're from the South but don't know WHICH STATE. To make a sweeping generalization like that shows how ignorant they are here, people from the MidWest have a Southern accent and there are places in the SouthWest that don't have a Southern accent, like Arizona or New Mexico. I've lived in quite a few places so I can basically tell what part of the South people are from just by hearing their accent. People from Louisiana have a completely different drawl than people from Texas just like people from Georgia speak in a different Country accent than people from Florida. It's not that hard to pick up on 1nce you know people or have moved around.
So Egypt is the Cornerstone of Arabic slang eh? Do tell............

yeah thats about it , I'm not really familiar with the differences but I kinda know the southern accent from boston's accent from other accent's like in nyc , but i think the difference is not as comically as it's portrayed in the movies right
and yeah egyptian slang is the one most commonly known around the middle east , mostly because of the tv shows and movies. egypt is like hollywood of the middle east, thats why our slang so common , and after us comes the Syrians and Lebanese, they are quite famous with their music www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVUDg3… this is a Lebanese song by fayrouz this is from the 60s hope you like it

.......eh, that link was ok, a bit too lightweight for my tastes. This is more of what I'm into as far as that throwback Middle-Eastern flava:
turkishpsychedelicmusic.wordpr…

trust me, there's more of 2 pages of this Funk to digest. Soul for your 3rd earhole.
How do you say "funk" in Egyptian slang by the way?
I think I recall reading that somewhere, that the majority of the movies filed in the Middle-East have came from Egypt. That's not surprising. we've discussed before how Egypt is the original Mecca of so many things back in the day.
As far as the accents it depends, some accents are just terrible and others are easier to overstand but it always depends on who's speaking them no matter where they're from. They tend to over-exaggerate them in the movies sometimes for that comical effect though.

oh yeah but that's bit funky than the traditional turkish or middle eastern music it has a western twist, really cool too bad they don't make music like this anymore
so any recommendations for something new with the same vibe I haven't updated my playlist for a while and it's all alternative rock ,indie music , and chillout music. I could use a little help adding some cool jazz or blues tracks
funk well there is no exact equivalent to it in Arabic so we mostly say funk or funky and it means cool to us like "funky guy " lol and cool also means rewesh (literately translated to spazie lol) or wad gamed (strong dude) it sound super dump when I translate it like that XD
and yeah the first arabic motion picture was egyptian you can say we're hollywood of the middle east, there were even silent motion pictures, it's all because egypt was occupied by the english and french in the early 20s
I guess southerner's don't speak in that comical hic way they portrait in the movies. I mean I don't have a heavy accent in English like the arabs shown in the movies, but I know ppl who have a more comical accent than anything I've ever seen on tv
well if you want to know any more slang lemme know am your man XD

So I take it you liked what you heard on that Music blog? Cool. I'm glad I introduced you to some new stuff (well......not so much new since it's old as dirt ). As far as new recommendations I'm curious as to what some of your favorite bands/musicians/music artists are. Also what do you listen to your music on? If I upload some stuff in my Dropbox acct would you DL the music from there or what?
Ok so there isn't an Arabic equivalent to Funk, just as well, but "cool" means "spazie"? In Amerikkka that would mean someone was "spazzing out", like acting uncontrollably hyperactive. "wad gamed" sounds kinda weird, I guess because of the "gamed" part maybe. I definitely have alot to learn about your language and culture.
And trust me, some Southerners and Midwestern people do speak in an exaggerated drawl, it just depends on who it is. Some people are more refined and polished while others keep it grimy and ignorant. Trust me you listen to some of those dumb-ass Dirty Souf Gold Mouf rappers and you'll see what I'm talking about.

yeah it was nice quite a change from what I usually hear
I'm into alternative rock, chillout music , indie music
I love coldplay, travis, lana del ray and new ppl like hozier, gotye, imagine dragons , sia and some obscure artists like hiatus (amazing dj) robin schulz also an amazing dj, broods, mt. wolf, the staves
I usually listen to tracks on youtube , and soundcloud
lol yes it exactly means that spazzing out lol and yeah arabic is not like anything uve heard b4 speaking it is a challenge too we make some weird noises lol it's as hard to learn as chinese
and you could ask about anything and I'll gladly teach you
southerners rappers that's new hahaha I have to hear this send me a link plz

You heard of Sia? That one track she has with Clams Casino producing it is my FAVORITE. Clams Casino is one of my favorite Beatmakers/Producers out right now as far as a up-and-comer.
Since we're on the subject of Clams Casino he has produced some songs for Southern rappers if not remixed them, like "Moon & Stars" by Big K.R.I.T.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoPZC8…
as far as Midwestern here's one cat that I've grown to be a HUGE fan of, Freddie Gibbs from Gary, Indiana (Big K.R.I.T. is from Mississippi). Here's one song off of that collaboration album he did with Madlib but remixed by Canadian jazz/funk trio BADBADNOTGOOD "Shame":
www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSSJAa…
and here's something from one of the OGs of that Durrty South sub-genre UGK "Get Throwed":

These guys are from Houston, Tx so that drawl is out of CONTROL. XD
let me know what you think.
