I'm grateful that you think so... I guess I like the scratchy style because on paper that's how I work

Yeah lately I feel I've been trying to make my work look too good, so I've lost that fluid sketchy style in a lot of my work, especially comics. Art school will do that to you, you suddenly feel your work isn't good enough so you're constantly trying to make it look more interesting. But I love the sketchy style, I haven't allowed myself to completely abandon it yet.

Yeah that can happen I think, when someone's scribbly dark art style suits them, then they go all clean edged and pretty style, you miss what they were capable of before.
