My series began with my friend giving me very specific notes on what she wanted for a tattoo. It all just ballooned out from there. I kinda have the ideas broken down into pretty bugs and weirdo concept bugs.
I've seen a few people making clockwork insects or technologically altered bugs, but nothing quite like yours. How did you get started on your series?

I moved house, and was exploring the garden, looking for insects. I found a whole lot of bees and flies and butterflies, but not a single beetle! So I started with a weevil to charm the beetles in
But then, a whole bunch of other fictitious beetles charged in to keep it company, and then we were invaded by Harlequin Ladybirds in their hundreds, so I should be careful what I wish for
Insects lend themselves pretty well to tattoos I think. When I was studying entomology I always wanted Chrysomela menthastri tattooed, but I never got round to it and lost the moment...
