# About me
I hope to capture the wind in a paintbrush;I hope to hold it in my hands;
I hope to paint a canvas with its power;
I hope to feel the cool breeze on my face
as I dip my brush into the sky;
And I hope to move you as the wind has moved me.
It’s the wind, the water, the grass, and the leaves that I hope to capture in my work. It’s movement, it’s strength, it’s life, and it’s the world. It’s the beautiful things that we don’t appreciate enough. It’s the connections we never make between the things we make and the things that make them. It’s capturing the anger and the force of a hurricane in the grace and beauty of a dancer. It’s blending the raw, rough bark of a tree with the smooth, even lines of a skyscraper.
It’s putting all of this down on paper, on cardboard, on anything I can get my hands on, so that perhaps you will see what I see. I use pencils I find on the ground, paints, metals, I pick the leaves and bark off of trees, and use them all to show how they work together; how they are all related, and how we have made them so.
It’s an attempt to let you contemplate what I have reflected on my whole life. And when I put all of this into my art, I am not asking you to appreciate the work; I am asking you to appreciate the inspiration. I am hoping that someone walks away with a new appreciation of the things have inspired me, the things that have shaped the world into what it is today.
