I've eyeballed a few in the past.Β The main thing holding me off from doing them is the backlog of kits I currently have.

I've always had a soft spot for grunt designs like the Zaku or GM.Β

I would love to see a Bearguy from you xD

Like I'm smart enough to stop! Just a bit slower is all. We'll call that quality instead of being busy.
Bearguy is on the radar, like many designs, but has to wait until the backlog vanishes less the wife kills me. Maybe my daughter will see it and want to build it like her GM we did a few years back?

hahaha I see
well, Gunpla is something supposedly to be a thing to be passed down from generation to generation, it's not a bad hobby to share with kids, hehe.

Only one daughter has the patience to tackle it properly. I don't think either are going to keep any of it from some of their comments. Maybe they'll auction it off later on and find it worth something? Perhaps I'll obtain some fame for my stuff in that moment?

Hehehe
I think the most important part here is that you got to spent time with (at least one) of your daughters, it's not something to be taken for granted xD

For the Gundam Build Fighter line I think you would like the basic UC adaptations. I of course have to flog the Zaku Amazing, Kampfer Amazing, and Gouf R35. Β New series GBF Try has the heroine initially using a "GM Cannon Cardigan", which seemed like a good recommendation after seeing your GM Cannon Custom mod. I would also like to see you take on one of the delightfully overbuilt Thunderbolt models as well.

I try. Whether I succeed or not is another story all together. Mostly I think it comes off as ramblings.

How did you paint your split skulls so well?

clem-master-janitor In reply to Count-Vilanova [2012-07-03 18:23:39 +0000 UTC]
Airbrush, lots of patience, constant looking at source material (running up and down the stairs with each individual piece so I could tape the particular colored areas and then return to painting), stripping the whole job about two different times, lots of cussing and swearing, and a bit of luck. Mostly just the airbrush and good paints helped.

I bet its a pain to thin those paints
π: 0 β©: 1
clem-master-janitor In reply to Count-Vilanova [2012-07-03 22:35:10 +0000 UTC]
Not really. The Tamiya paints I used for Split Skull thin really easily with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Just a tiny bit makes it work wonders. Normally it's too thick and can be tricky to paint with by hand. After thinning, it's relatively simple. It's just a bitch to get the drying time right when I want to go immediately and second coat. Freshly dried Tamiya wants to pull away when a second coat is applied. I knew this problem when I started Split Skull, but I was impatient. Hence why I ended up doing a second strip down on the paints. I prefer Model Masters' Acrylic for hand painting. It's not as nice in the brush (likes to clog the tip) but second coats faster. Bad part is the two can't seem to work together. I lay any Tamiya down and then try to switch to a color Model Master does better and all hell breaks loose.

Hi, I would like to thank you for adding Original: OZ-06MS Leo Custom to your favorites! I really appreciated it.
To make you remember what art it is, here's the link: [link]
I've created a new DA account as my formal account (for business and learning reasons, plus I'm getting married this coming April 20).
This is my new, final and main account and I'm planning to deactivate this account. I would like to ask a request if you could add the reuploaded picture to your favs again? Here's the new link:

I'll give you a Llama for the effort. ^_^
Thanks again!

no problem, u have some impressive customs. I am just starting into gunpla, but i am a long time airplane modeler, and it think gunpla is sick. Good work

I started a long time ago in the airplanes and cars. Those models pretty much burned out my model building hobby for a while because of how crappy the run of the mill store brands are around here.

yea I had alot of Revell airplanes, i was big into the World War II planes. I was a noob then and didnt know anything bout paint or anything so they came out kinda crappy haha. I just want my Gundam models to get awesome paint jobs but dint have an airbrush u know?

clem-master-janitor In reply to Pappaprime [2012-03-02 23:22:27 +0000 UTC]
I definitely know that feeling. I look back at some of my older kits now and wonder how the hell I did such smooth painting without the airbrush. Then I start stripping them to rework the kit and realize the smooth hand work actually devoured all the details. I have to chuckle but realize I've improved huge over the last five years.

Pappaprime In reply to clem-master-janitor [2012-03-03 02:48:51 +0000 UTC]
yea really, i was thinking about doing that to some of my planes n wanna start that with gunpla, but u moved onto airbrushing now?
π: 0 β©: 1
clem-master-janitor In reply to Pappaprime [2012-03-06 00:34:34 +0000 UTC]
Yep, airbrush works fast as hell and allows me to do some cheats that handpainting couldn't with regard to weathering. Seems I go through a hell of a lot less paint versus the hand painting. Everything dries faster, too, since the coats are so much thinner.

Pappaprime In reply to clem-master-janitor [2012-03-06 02:09:01 +0000 UTC]
Wow, basically, its better in all ways then. Dang, then I should start saving up, its just the cost thats an issue! I think ill start with tamiya spray paint before taking the jump to air brushing.
