Hi! Happy almost February! I was wondering if you had some advice? I always love your fanart, it's fantastic! OLICITY!! ♥ ♥ ♥ Your fanart - no matter who! - always looks exactly like the real actors/actresses and I was wondering if you had any tips for drawing real people? Mine are always off somehow...buts yours are so wonderful! I wondered if you had some technique or lineart basics or anything to help out being as amazing an artist as you are!

Hi. Well, the main thing is to draw from references, not from your head. Find photos of the people you want to draw and study their features closely. Basically, learn how to draw. My high school art teacher gave this advice, "Draw what you see, not what you know." So being able to perceive, observe, and draw the details is very important. But this skill only comes with lots of practice. Drawing is a physical activity, so the more you practice the better you will get.
It's that way with everyone. If I go for a long time without drawing anything, my skills begin to wane. It's not that I forgot how to draw, but it just takes time for everything to flow. Don't be afraid to start over if something just isn't working. It can be frustrating, but just take a step back, do something else, and then come back to the piece with fresh eyes.
I hope these tips help. Let me know if you need any more advice.

Looking at your thing where you documented your artistic improvement since 1996, I'm inspired to dig up some old drawings of my own and do the same thing. Unfortunately, I don't have anything farther back than 2002, but I should have enough to see a definite improvement! Your gallery is lovely <3

Thank you. A few weeks ago I found some more "forgotten" art that dates back even earlier. Maybe 1994 or so. It was of the characters from The Babysitter's Club book series. So If I decide to update the meme again, I might add those.
I'm glad you enjoy my art. I find it useful to look back at old art, even if it's from only a few years ago. Even if I don't see improvement in specific areas per se, I do see that my style is continuing to develop and evolve.
I can't wait to see your meme.

Haha, I remember the Babysitter's Club! My sister and I had quite a few of the books, and some VHS tapes of random episodes of the TV show. Good times! And you're welcome! I'll be able to catch up with all the non-school things I've been meaning/wanting to do for ages (but had to keep putting off) soon! So I'd say expect my meme in the next few weeks or so? :3
