I admit the fact that a pro account helps a lot when it comes to exposure, but it's not a must. Art is meant to be created with soul. I can recognize a commercial shot from kilometers, so cold, emotionless andΒ bureaucraticallyΒ taken.
I agree about the fact that DA hosts lots of artists that are neglected. This issue is a general world issue in any domain. I don't pay much of attention to such useless details, as this is just a hobby and not my work. If I feel the need to take a shot and post it here, I just go outside, take that shot and post it.
Regarding hours spent here, I just don't have anymore that amount of time to spend it here. It was always a pleasure to be here, however I was inactive for around 2 years because of college/university. I learned a fundamental thing regarding the use of time, which seems to help: in order to not get bored of a specific activity, your free time doesn't have to be used on a specific activity even though you adore it. Create a program in which you add all kinds of activities, in this manner you will be doing a lot of things and not get bored of a specific occupation.
Speaking of studying, oh boy, I will soon be having my finals. They didn't even started and I already wait for them to finish, lmao.

But I`ll try the pictorialism technique... it sounds interesting

Pictorialism is a movement to give the photograph a romantic, dream-like quality. It started when people still worked on film, prints, and they used to edit the prints whilst they were being produced, but now people use their digitals and edit it on the pc or take the photos with various materials in front of the lense to make the photograph hazy. I think you would do beautifully! Your photographs tend to have some of those qualities already, and I said you should try your sister because you are close, she won't say no to you! :* And you can't know whether you're good until you try, and practice!

You should have a try with Half Moon Run, this is a Montreal, Canada group. Just procured their first album. I really enjoy to listen to it since a couple of weeks ..
Try "Full Circle", "Give up", "Fire escape" ... they are representative of the album style. Many style mixed alltogether.
