Outstanding ink art gallery, one which deserves wider recognition.
Thank you so much for allowing us on the Ninth Age to use your artworks! Due credit always given of course. I can tell you that already a lot of people like the art shared over there a lot: You've got quite a bit of praise, although the "Like" system regrettably sucks most personalized comments out of circulation. And if you do more Warhammer-style pieces, T9A can always use it as long as unique GW iconography (e.g. Khorne's mark) doesn't show up. The eight-pointed star along with other symbol patterns on your drawing is perfect!
Cheers!

I'm afraid that was it (at the moment at least), you see in the book the storyline I turned into this shortie was separated (Pages 1-2 <---> 3-6), and like I wrote in the description, it consists of these two separate (but connected) scenes.
Oh and thaks for the feedback C:

Velipaju88 In reply to AzeeraTheNinja [2010-11-21 18:31:44 +0000 UTC]
Can't complain really, i mean sure it's cold but that goes without saying during winter, and on the other hand summer is quite warm. And now that we got this electricity-thingie on and going, things are getting even better, it seems
Education possibilities are good, and so is public healthcare, even though of the best efforts of the government It's even said that to be born in here is like a lottery win, which is somewhat true I guess, at least one is just as likely to happen as another.
Then again, there are some more inconvenient things, like that in Finland we also have rather high rate of suicides, so one's welcome to visit but it's recommended to try stay happy. There's a good healthcare and safe otherwise, but you probably want to kill yourself
There is so much to tell, but you probably didn't ask for a novel, so i'm gonna stop now. If you're still interested do ask more, but you could narrow it down a bit ~_~

Lol, now that i came to mention it you're probably gonna remember me as the weirdo from suicideland
Actually i just wanted to avoid the usually given common image, for example that Finland is the land of thousand lakes, home of Santa (he lives in Korvatunturi, by the way) and where sauna and mobile phones (Nokia is still the biggest company in business in the world, and not from Japan as some believe) were invented.
Motorsports are also part of being Finnish. We have, after all, rather large number of very successful F1 (Mika Häkkinen, Mika Salo, Kimi Räikkönen) and rally drivers (Tommi Mäkinen, Juha Kankkunen, Marcus Grönholm) for so small population (5.3 million). Number of us seems quite a small also compared to the size of country itself, area larger than France, Germany or Great Britain, populated by less than peolpe 10% of those mentioned. Here i go with your beloved geography, learninig much? ;D
Phew, feeling like a tourist guide i'd really like to answer to some particular questions if you have some, rather than give lectures
Talking about questions, how is it around that side of the globe, aside from Obama being the president?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Haha, wow I am learning quite a lot actually and it seems like a lot of fun at the moment ^^ I'm glad you actually told me this XD
Hmm.... I'm not sure if I have any specific questions.... maybe I guess how people talk over there, like are there gangsters there like how we have them or is everyone just kind of normal? XD
Well, Obama being president here doesn't really pop up in my mind often, but it's rather different here. I'm from the south side of the U.S.: Texas ^^
There are a lot of (and not to sound racist) mexicans and african americans, and a lot of just different people here. There are so many different types from how densely populated we are that it's not even funny, but we're not REALLY crowded either, which is good.
Yes it is true that we love burgers XD But not everyone here is fat, that's a lie. And umm..... *thinking of other rumors about the U.S.* ......
Yes we have cars and yes we're very industrialized and...... I'm not sure what else to say, we're a busy and ongoing country XD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Velipaju88 In reply to AzeeraTheNinja [2010-11-22 22:03:17 +0000 UTC]
Texas, eh? Everything is bigger and so on...
By the way, is it true that most sold vehicle around there (at least a while back) is pickup truck, and it's referred as vehicle because according to regulations it's not a car?
And how well do you speak languages, apart from the obvious, meaning how many of you speak other languages and how many of them?
Apart from those, i think i have quite good picture about states now that i come to think of it. I mean for example 90% of foreign shows in our TV are from there, and i've also seen countless american made movies. Doesn't mean thou that i'm expert on the matter either, so gimme some funny/good-to-know info that comes to mind
I'm all out of questions right now, but don't you worry, i'll harass you with more of them soon as i come up with more
Roight, about Finland then; well i guess we talk just like everyone else, with our mouths and so on, telepathy haven't really broke thru yet...
And we speak finnish, surprise surprise, which just so happens to be one of the hardest languages to learn (not as hard as icelandic or chinese but still) and it has a nice little extension compared to English alphabet; Ä,Ö and Å (which comes from Sweden and is actually just O in disguise)
demonstration; "Eihän täällä ole yhtään haisunäätääkään, pelkkiä yökkösiä"
Figuring that one out could be nice little homework for you, eh?
Funny little fact about finnish language: it's pronounced exactly the same way it's written.
And when it comes to gangsters, Finland is country like no another, i have perfect example right here... [link] XD
But for serious, we don't have such a gangland problem as you do by far, nothing to mention really.
Funny you should mention normal, because we're not, and proud of it
Just to mention something Rich over here had a wonderful point to make [link]

Hmmm....
well we call cars "cars" and trucks "trucks" or "cars" if we're not really caring on how to say it XD
And we can speak english and a lot of Spanish since we have a lot o immigrants from Mexico and well yeah
Haha, wow I actually didn't know a lot of our movies went over there XD
Um, well first off, there actually aren't a lot of cowboys around here, I don't see a lot of ranches either, and we have a lot more buildings than you probably think ^^ Oh, and sometimes I say "ya'll" but I think that's just me being a weird mix of asian and texan since I've grown up here and all XD We have a lot of gangsters here (I think I told you that) and.... I think we're just an average city with average stuff, though I've heard that Austin is weird I wouldn't really know
Wow I never knew that! That's really cool to know about that language ^^ I didn't even know it was one of the hardest languages, so that's cool ^^
Ummmm O.O" ....... I don't think I could figure that out, I can barely speak spanish XD
Haha, oh I see.... well your gangsters aren't as bad as ours, that's for sure XD
You should be! I am too! XD

Thehe, i thought you knew about google translator, would have been great help it's actually somewhat useful these days, unlike back then when it was introduced. Not that they are probably ever gonna get the grammar part work perfectly, but it seems to know the words, and i guess that's what counts
You mentioned Austin, bunch of weirdos , and that your city is average and all, but what is it's name? Couldn't help wondering if you left it unsaid on purpose (what, you afraid i'm gonna start stalking? XD )
To return to the language thing, what i meant was do you have compulsory lectures of other languages in school, we are having at least two, and even more if you want to (not me thou, i was quite fed up with english and swedish). What's funny, is that this one survey showed that usually finns speak english better than our swedish or norvegian (border neighbours) counterparts, which is quite odd, because those are close related to english (very similar grammar, that's what counts, not similarities between words), while finnish is so far off that it's actually closer to indian language
Not seen the another vid? Well you should, i didn't put it there for nothing
And i guess (at least what i've heard it is) that it's very striking to actually see for yourself how hard the drinking culture around here actually is (not many ask first, after thrown up, for more booze, but we do)
Maybe Russians, but those savages really don't count, i mean they probably add vodka to baby bottle :S

Oh yeah.... I forgot about that..... That shows how busy I am huh?
Haha, it's already bad enough you know I'm in Texas XD My sister would kill me if I said specifically where...
Oh, well we're supposed to learn other languages, it's required in our high school credits and stuff (hopefully you know what I'm talking about since you're from another country) so we kind of HAVE to learn some other language.
Wow, I didn't know ANY of this about other languages, that's reall interesting!! ^^ I should look into it sometime! ^^
Haha, I know you didn't, but when I clicked it, it said that it couldn't be found, so it's either my computer is horrible at I SPY (i'll elaborate on that if you don't know what that is) or the link isn't correct XD
Oh, I haven't even thought about that. The only country I've thought about that has heavy drinkers is Ireland, but that's probably a rumor/lie And we have heavy drinkers here too, sadly.
And that's horrible! D8

Wow, that freaked out letting people know stuff o.O and who needs to be afraid of strangers when your own sister might finish you off
Don't have that problem myself, being oldest in the herd and all, but i guess on the another hand it gives a responsibility, like looking after that no one but you tease them ;]
Oh, before i forget, let's give another try for that other vid [link]
If the link doesn't work, just type FINNISH DRINKING on the search, it's the first of the search results. Is the drinking age over there really 21? Seems high, and still you can have drivers licence as young as 16. Over here both limits are age of 18, which also is the requirement for voting.
More still about Finnish language; other languages actually "related" to ours are Hungary and Turkish (or was it about some sort of distant relation between the people, or was it both... can't remember :/). Funny fact: the name of the capital of Turkey is Ankara, which happens to mean strict/harsh in Finnish
Running out of things about language, wondering what next... oh i know, something we finns are proud of (aside from Nokia, top of the line education and the best metal music in the world ): Winter war. Ever heard about it? Well you have now. Without going into too much details (in case you're not as interested about history of warfare as i am), right at the beginning of the second world war, early of winter 1939 (quite old news as you can see, but even old story might be still good) Russia (Soviet Union back then) tried and failed to conquer Finland, just like it had done with Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, half of the Poland (the Germans took the another part, at least for start, but that's another story...) and a couple of other eastern european countries names of which i can't care to remember. That defense wictory certainly put Finland on the map (independence won from Russia not earlier than 1917), and this little picture over here tells you more about it than thousand words: [link]
And don't let statistics fool you, those 400.000+ ones missing means actually dead also, it's just that no one ever found the bodies...
Phew, that seems to have turn into another of my novels, time to go to bed i think

The video works That guy is too funny!! Thanks for showing me that XD
And yes, for us it's 21 because some people here can't handle drinking any younger than that. We just have a lot of bad people here really
Hm, that's interesting, is there a reason why the name is Strict? Like, is it communist there or something? O.O
Actually, I'm pretty interested in history and that is really cool! That is totally something to be proud of in your country! ^^

Yeah, well, it is when you think about it (not that it seemed that way some years back when i had to babysit them, usually having better stuff to do)
Nice you liked it, if you're in for more standup, i've got another great vid: [link]
(I'ts about this finnish guy doing show at Canada)
I'm not saying we could handle booze any better, we just start it earlier anyway, some even at the age of 14 (not heavy-duty using, but trying out first times). My first time was when i was 16 (maybe somewhat late, but only in comparison), still didn't drink so much before i hit 18 thou.
And by the way, it seems to me somewhat blunt to say "bad people", i mean can you really point out someone in the crowd and say that he is bad person? How about doing the same in schoolyard, or kindergarten? (no offense, might be just a way of speaking over there, but seemed odd to me)
About that capital's name, Ankara, it surely means something in Turkish language (other than strict), and in the same time we have a word "ankara" in finnish language, so it probably has nothing to do with communistic history... you see Turkey was never ground gained by Russians/Communism, it has been democracy ever since 1923 (Ottoman ruled empire collapsed after, and because of, first world war, pretty much same way as in Russia, where Tsar Nikolai and his family were executed after bolshevik rebellion)
Lol, i forgot to tell the most obvious of our people related to us; Estonia (too obvious it seems for me to mention it ) Languages are very much alike, but still very different, and full of funny little differences, like that finnish word for milk, maito, means buttermilk in Estonian language, and our word for buttermilk, piimä, means milk in Estonia
In fact, i'm sure most finns are having hard time to keep straight face when hearing estonian language spoken (at least i think it's fricking hilarious to listen). On the another hand, woman talking Finnish with Estonian accent is really arousing (and i'm not alone with this opinion), i guess nearest comparison i can give would be someone speaking English with French accent
(what do you think about that, hot or not? ;D)
Thehe, i think i'm gonna end right here, and take advise from my very good personal friend Jack Daniels before heading to pub (and/or club), because it's... FRIDAY!!!!!

And sorry if I did sound mean, I wasn't exactly judging everyone who drank or anything, I was heading more onto the idea of how we have drunken fathers/mothers abusing their kids. That person isn't necessarily good in my eyes, but others may have their own opinions I guess. I was just trying to hurry up and reply already since I took so long XD
Oh, okay, I guess that makes sense XD
Haha, isn't that convenient to know? XD And actually, I didn't even know Estonia existed until you mentioned it to me I'm not very updated when it comes to other nations and such

Ouch, long night that was, and just as life is about to gain victory i'm about to head to the Christmas party with a couple of friends....
And take a wild guess how that's going to turn out
It's just like that one song by 22-20s: "don't you know you're such a fool.... to keep on acting like you do"
But what the hell, life doesn't last too long, and i'll catch my sleep when i'm on grave

Haha, still probably had sleepless nights wondering about it...
And yeah, thats the another thing about us Finns, our mentality really is like no other among other nations (unlike that gangster-thing, it was just a joke). If you didn't read that story about Pekka, do it now, it's funny because it's true. I take it that you like music (what a detective world looses in me), so I'll add links to a couple of all around Finnish songs by band called Viikate (=scythe), one of my favourites <3
Olkoon näin - So be it: [link]
On aivan sama - It's all the same: [link]
And let me tell you, this is none of that emo bulls*ht, this is what we are
To make it interesting, I'll also add the translated lyrics, have fun
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So bet it
When in my mind I wander to the dark of meories
I’ll see best of my hopes never came to be
By youth once I too got wings
And a cloudcastle to fly to
But time took purity from my wings
And cloudcastle never got finished
Youth doesn’t know night, it’s always day
But years leave behind the sun
So much is hoped, so much is dreamt
Our flame leaves behind but dust
There’ll never be a cloudcastle lasting
Who knows this, understands all
Now in my mind I wander to the dark of meories
And see best of my hopes never came to be
Now understanding I look behind
And utter to myself: “so be it”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s All The Same
(Song by horsemen from Verland)
It’s all the same
Where you go horseman
It’s all the same
Where your life ends
Even the most beautiful roses wither
Autumn wafts death
Once night gives rest to a wanderer
The flush of the wine is just dream fading
And a song most beautiful rings only for a moment
Futility of vanity shall be your motto
And on the plains of the underworld all shall be forgotten
The roses of love have flourished for you once
The lips most dashing have sworn an oath
Even the oaths most precious disappear like will-o'-the-wisp
And the burn of a kiss also illusion fading
It’s all the same
When you die horseman
It’s all the same
When your life ends
Because dark roses always flourish in undergardens*
It’s all the same
When you die horseman
*
I just made this word up, because it sounds better than “underworld’s gardens”, which wouldn’t even be that accurate translation

Interesting? Gloomy as hell is more like it, see here:
"Even thou i'm dead and six feet under, can't feel a thing
Even thou i'm dead and six feet under, can't feel a thing
There are already dirt on the lid of the coffin and priest throws more
There are already dirt on the lid of the coffin and priest throws even more
....
(seven more verses, and not about dancing over roses, if you know what i
mean)
....
Even thou i'm dead and six feet under, can't feel a thing
Even thou i'm dead and six feet under, can't feel a thing
Even thou it's quiet at the gate of heaven, I hear there won't be room for
me
Even thou it's quiet at the gate of heaven, I hear there won't be room for
me"
Seems getting more and more so after every release...
not depressed, just Finnish
