Hi, really awesome work. would it be possible to send me Cirius-b and Antares but just the planet with a transparent background? I would like to use them as icons for my harddisks, they have the same names would be nice. Keep making that great work

Hi, thanks . I'd have to rescale them due to size (and because I'd like to keep the originals from being copied, can't be to safe nowadays)).
Let me know how big you want them approximatley.
And don't worry they will still be more than big enough to be used as icons . If you decide to use them elsewhere (on the net for example) please give me credit. Thanks .

wow mate thanks
256x256 is the minimum for the icons so thats okey for me

I wont put them on internet, I just saw your planet and I wanted to use them for my harddrives because they have the names: Antares, Sirius-b and Mars

Really thanks so much

Sorry that it took me so long, my computer broke down so I couldn't upload it.

I encountered some problems, mainly the fact that I blend my stuf in with the background, so it's almost impossible on large formats to select everything with the background sepparate, without altering the way they look. I tried to make them look as good as possible, tho the edges remain :/. I normaly start working in the format I tend to use, so everything outside the borders doen't get altered.

Can I ask you a few questions? To cut the wires, do you use a chisel? And what would be a safe way to do it (rounded surfaces and sharp objects don't mix well ). From what I've read and tried (small stuff, thin iron wire) you spiral the wire around a round bar, and cut them in a line. (are there any tips I should know about? ) Thanks in advance .

unreal-hunter In reply to Tw-design [2010-01-19 20:26:05 +0000 UTC]

I did a lot of handcutting with snips, but these days I use 1,3mm stainless steel, so a saw is a must.
what I do, is take a wound coil of wire, and clamp it in my tabletop vise. then I take a jewelers handsaw (the smal ones with replacable blades) and cut a start. Usually, I do a rough 25 degree angle with the coil, and cut till the first whole ring comes off. Then I swich to the larger hacksaw, cause that goes through the rings way faster. but it lacks the controll needed to saw the start. Then you just saw untill you're halfway through the clamped part of the coil, removing rings as they come free (carefull not to damage the inside underside when sawing) and then i loosen the vise, and rearrange the coil.

(ps, I coil with a batterypowered handdrill. I advise not using the bigger ones with a powercord, cause they can tear your fingers off)
