Don't sweat, we all miss some inspiration some for periods. I myself had such a period at autumn 2016 when I didn't uploaded anything for month. It's just about to follow ones rhythm. There are a lot of account on dA that never uploaded anything at all, some of them empty on everything, but some having a lot of faves and a plenty of conversations. But you have a lot in your gallery

I know, I do sometimes draw but mostly just doodling. I'm much more focussed on writing nowadays.
It's a different kind of creative I guess, just a bit easyer to change the image. I do miss the actual using your hands (I don't count typing as using your hands in the same sense haha )
Änyway this break has been going on for years now

FractalMonster In reply to TerrorThirzje [2019-01-16 18:58:45 +0000 UTC]

Art often comes from playing. So fractal art

"It's a different kind of creativity I guess", you mean fractal art. Well, it's an almost philosophical discussion. Myself belonging to the "purists" it's mainly a kind of exploring patterns that are already there, and then display them in a nice way (by coloring etc). IF you wanna try some free simple fractal software of "Mandel an Julia" type, go to this journal. You don't need to know the math behind

"Änyway", do you like in Swedish have the letter "ä" in your alphabet? It's then very funny cause the Swedish "ä" is pronounced just as "a" is pronounced in the English "anyway"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TerrorThirzje In reply to FractalMonster [2019-01-17 09:02:54 +0000 UTC]

Haha no I meant writing is so different from drawing
But I guess fractal art also different from holding a pencil. You are still looking at it the same way though, playing with the colors and the patterns as you would with pencils or paint. I agree with that.

I do want to try some time, maybe not while being at the office

No in the Netherlands we don't have the ä in our alphabet like that, we do use the dots like that sometimes umm but thats actually more common with "ï" and "ë". For instance in "geïnteresseerd" (interesed), it shows that you have to read the "e" and the "i" apart from each other, instead of reading it as "ei" which is a totally different sound. We have several sounds that are made by several letters combined (e.g.: ei, eu, ui, ch, ect). So we use those dots when the word is not pronounced as one of those combinations.

OK, THEN I understand A little bit so

Do what you heart tells you

.. and thanks for the

That was an interesting use of a dot! It seems like your spelling, like the spelling in German and Swedish, Finnish, etc in opposite to the spelling of English is very logical But have you "ä" on your keyboard (without typing any code)? Now I am tedious

TerrorThirzje In reply to FractalMonster [2019-01-17 12:53:20 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha

Your welcome, thank you as well for the faves!

Yes, I think your right, I also think lots of things within our grammar are mostly practical and logical but on the other hand, we also have quite a few things that are very hard to take up when learning Dutch as a beginner.
We have a few words like english has "a" and "the" that basically come down to knowing the language and "feeling" which one is right. They do have some rules but the rules don't apply to all the words or aren't always that logical to people that don't natively speak dutch. We have a few words that work like that. "de", "het", "een" are the "a" and "the" in english. And we also have "dat", "wat", "die" that are hard to learn. Besides that we have some horrible rules about words in different times (present/future/past/finished past) that make words change.Other languages do that as well of course: to break, broke, have broken ect, ect. Most of those are okay until you have certain words especially the words ending with a 'd'. Those sometimes get an extra silent 't' as a present.......................................................it's completely annoying and even native dutches do it wrong a LOT.

And no, we don't  have ä on our keyboard. We have a code. Its: shift '' and then the letter you want dotted haha

No problem

Languages is a great mystery. Regarding Dutch, isn't it a maybe weird mix between German and English? I've never was good at languages in school, but during the eighties I, for some obscure reason became interested in the old classicla language of India, Sanskrit, and especially (outside the courses) the native way of describing grammar. I've 2 journals about that subject on dA, The zero(s) of Panini and the mathematical zero(Note, there are no diacritical signs for transcriptions of Sanskrit words in this journal)
Panini (long a both i short) lived in the northwestern India about 500 BC and composed the oldest preserved grammar in the history. More about his grammar for the classical language in India, Sanskrit, can be read of in,
Panini
Wikipedia on Panini
Modern computer owes its origin to Panini
Panini's Grammar and Computer Science
This journal will be restricted to deal with some similarities between the grammatical zero(s) of Panini and the mathematical zero.
A word (pada) in Sanskrit according to Panini is something that either ends on a finite and Hyperlinks in Old Indian Sanskrit Grammar(Note, there are no diacritical signs for transcriptions of Sanskrit words in this journal)
In this journal I will compare the similarities between hypertext for linking in HTML documents and the use of anubandhas in ancient Indian Sanskrit grammar for about 2 500 years ago. The Sanskrit word “anubandha” means ‘connection’, ‘link’. A part of this journal will therefor also be an instruction of how to  make hypertext links in your comments (for those of you who don't know), making the messages to look somewhat more nice But first an introduction,
Introduction:
Panini (long a both i short) lived in the northwestern India about 500 - 300 BC and composed the oldest preserved grammar in the history. His grammar, called “Ashtadhyayi” 'the 8 lectures', consist of nearly 4 000 sutras, organized in 8 adhyayas, each adhyaya divided into 4 padas. If printed and arranged in two columns at each page . Check out them if you feel for it

That was the reason why I became surprised for having that letter in "Anyway (Änyway)"

Actually, English German en Dutch came from the same branch that separated from the Indo-European language called Germanic or Teutonic (1000-500 BC). That is why they all are very alike. There were many dialects in this language due to there just being a lot of land between inhabited areas but they could all understand each other. These three languages just evolved serparately due to several events, like the crossing of the Angles, Saxons and Jutes to the continent of England and when in South Germany the dialect there was found to pronounce the first big differences between Teutonic and German: ' Zu Pfeffer' instead of 'Toe Peper'.

These three languages are still the widest spoken germanic languages world wide.

If you find it interesting, I found this article to be quite well written:

 www.dbnl.org/tekst/_low0011996…

This is on about Germanic the language before English, German and Dutch separated.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germanic…

I also liked this list in addition. As in the first link it says the English language branched off first but in the first written accounts is actually Old Dutch that was accounted before German and English.
Old Dutch: c 510
Old High German: Second half of the 6th century
Old English: c 700
