Rather stressed relatively recently, as we've both been (unfortunately) burdened with university exams (damn those fortunate Arts students with a lack thereof...) and so have a fair amount of pressure to succeed to an arguably high standard for all the cards to fall into play. Alas, 'tis not exactly something I'm enjoying having to do right now (have essentially changed much of what I'm studying so am now completing exams I'm no longer motivated to learn the information for as it's basically redundant). However, it'll be over for both of us soon so I'm just being resilient and maintaining an optimistic perspective for what lies beyond this nighmarish, and deceptively drawn out, fleeting procession. Quite sure we both could do with this week and a bit in excess being omitted from time, though it's bound to pass anyway... Eventually.

And eh, I've not been great. Got dumped, twice. She took me back then broke my heart again.
And I've realised there's no place for someone who has morals in this world.
Or at least ideals like mine, e.g. true love, being a hero, being a knight in shining armour, being Prince Charming.
Basically, every girlfriend I've ever had has sent me Taylor Swift's White Horse at the end of the relationship.
Telling me to grow up in one way or another.
So yeah, I'm not great. However, I imagine I'll get better 
My newest poem was based on the fact I need to grow up 'n' stuffs.

While I didn't intentionally make the conscious decision to layer that string of words with cynical pessimism behind the sweetening façade of optimism, I can certainly appreciate how it may be inferred from such and, in fact, found it amusing shortly after styling it as it now lies, so refrained from changing it. For all intents and purposes, however, it is essentially non existent, as the inferential assumption that optimism was, and is, the pure and fundamental message to be obtained from the text rings true.
Despite morals being but a mere humanitarian construct under which societal norms function best in the most abstract form, they're invaluable gems of rarity and are to be highly sought after - they are not things to simply dismiss as such and cast blackened light down upon. Retain your aforementioned morals - there is every right in the world for them to remain. Don't cast them aside because one is too unsettled to appreciate them. While it may seem archaic, much of those morals have pervaded through modern life in many forms - most are just too blind to detect or acknowledge them to be conceivably capable of appreciating them. This is not any sympathy garnered by you, merely my suggestion that you not change who you are. You will encounter one capable of seeing these traits, and you will henceforth treasure your decision to have them remain as it will be the most blissful thing you have ever known.
I inferred such in some form of the sense. It was a read worth appreciating; I'd critique the work of others to give a more informative connection, however I rarely feel it is necessary. As a writer myself, I take what information is elicited in others in the privacy of their own emotional confines at that given time of reading the piece - whether negative or positive as I intended or did not intend, the evocation of an emotional response is what is desired and is why my pieces are intentionally structured with at least two different and very contrasting possibilities for inference. I would be upset if no emotional response were to be elicited. And yes, I did, indeed.
Thank you, though it's yet far from over. Either by running through its longevity or having it ended prematurely, they will soon pass, however. Regarding that, I'm currently indifferent, though seemingly arbitrary. Thanks, regardless.
