Hey! Your stuff is pretty nice too! Imma watch you as well so we can learn all there is about resin! I'm pretty new in the clay forray as well. I mostly use it as the original/positives for my resin casting and am only just now trying to make finished works of it (I've always been afraid of the clay shattering if I used it for beads or anything too complex).

Where did you learn your resin basics??
I'm totally confused by the whole thing. I can follow package directions but that's about it. I've seen like clear tinted sculptures (gauge earrings) before and am amazed by it. I really want to learn the technique.

Well my first step was in college. I was in Industrial Design/ Production Design, so we had one class where we had to model mold and sculpt, including the packaging. We used a Urethane rubber in that class, which is more permanent than the silicon I use now (doesnt degrade over time), but the silicon tends to be cheaper and requires less anti-chemical precautions (odorless and stuff)

Anything from there has been trial and error or contacting Smooth-On and other companies I used at the time (and no longer use) to find out things about the material. Sometimes there are demos at this place by me called Reynolds Advanced Materials, but that's usually introductory stuff. I've used a little Youtube and online tutorials here and there, too, but mostly for pigmenting stuff, knowing which solvents/colorants work in which type of resin and which will prevent curing.

Accidentally made my next resin/clay sculpture too big and he won't fit in the bottle but I'm making a little merman.

I absolutely ADORE your art nouveau style works. I'm just now exploring DA for the first time outside of just browsing.
