Just saw your second year film. Not sure what to say on it really, your work is always just so mind blowing. It was well animated, atmospheric, and well, you know I'm a sucker for stop motion. Keep up the great work!
Also, sorry I never got back to your text. I hope things are going well for you.

Awesome! Congratulations! Are you going to be staying in the dorms?
Up until yesterday I was working at Six Flags five days a week, and interning at a stop motion studio the other two, but I just got a freelance job making a short animated film for a company, so I'm doing that full time now.

That I am. Long overdue human contact. haha
School is right in the heart of downtown, and the downtown there is pretty nice. Like the nice parts of SF or Berkeley, but a lot less congested.
Sounds pretty busy, but fun hopefully! I realize working in an amusement park wouldn't just mean riding rides all day, but still an exciting place to be! Stop motion too, but no weekends sounds kind of stressful!
How long is the freelance gig for? Just til the end of summer or longer? Excited to see it when it's all done!

Nice! That sounds like it will be a really cool place to live. I hope you'll like it there! Have you met any other people who will be attending next year?
Yeah, Six Flags wasn't bad! The people were nice, and there were a few days where my boss for my internship was on vacation, and I didn't have to work, so I got to go to the park for a day, and pretty much everything was covered for my guest and I. And we basically hand front of the line passes, so it was awesome! I'm a little sad to leave it (but not too sad. haha) Yeah, no weekends is a little tough, and I'm that I won't be able to come home at all for the Summer, but ya gotta do what you gotta do.
The gig is supposed to be until the end of the Summer, but we'll see how it goes. Because of some chaos with a burning building and a contract, I started a week later than I was supposed to, and now that I see the script, it's going to be a much longer film than they had pitched to me, so it will probably go on a little past the start of school, but hopefully not much.

Hello,
I'm going around DA looking for cosplays with nicely done make up for a Cosplay make up 101 panel. Would I be able to use some of your photos in the presentation? If you aren't interested that's okay, just let me know and if you are, let me know how you'd like to be credited.

Not at all! It's for Nishikaze and Animethon 20. They don't have the panel list posted yet as both are still a bit away.

Thanks ^-^ Lol I hope so to this is only my second time doing panels so standing in front of a bunch of people still scares me a lot. That's usually why I go to Nishikaze first because it has smaller crowds. XD Also they don't have a lot of money to spend on guest and things so the more volunteers the better for them. If you ever do go to Canada though, the best one I hear is Anime North in Toronto. I've never gone since it's the other side of the country but two of my friends go each year and they say it's really fun and has a good mix of nerd culture. XD

I love your work so much! I applied to calarts for fall 2013. I hope to get into the character animation program. How is calarts? How was your first year like?

Thank you so much! Good luck on your application! Calarts is great! It's a lot of work, and sometimes it's hard to get into the classes you want, but it's good. My first year was busy, and at times stressful and difficult, but still great. Second year is even better!

Thank you for the encouragement. I am excited! I hope I get in, it seems like a great environment and the people I have met so far are very nice. I don't mind the challenge, it pumps me up.
Out of curiosity, what is the best part about Calarts in your opinion?
This is my portfolio that I submitted in case your interested

ShotzgoBoom In reply to JustaBambi [2013-01-11 18:53:21 +0000 UTC]
I guess it was something I was always kind of into, may dad and I watched a lot of cartoons together, and he showed me how to do stop motion when I was in first or second grade, using some toy dinosaurs I had, so it's always kind of been a part of me. It wasn't until like middle school that I started really drawing seriously and thinking about it as a carreer, though. I guess I started with fine art (or as fine art as it can be when you're in high school) and illustrative stuff, and then moved into doing more animation-oriented stuff once I got to Calarts. Sometimes it's hard to find the balance between fine art, and animation art. At least for me it is. And thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it! I'd never thought of doing more with them, but maybe someday!
