It went well! I'm glad I went. It was really tiring but a lot of fun. There was a whole bunch of amazing artists that aren't usually at this con, that came from Canada haha. It was hype. I got a lot of great prints.

Now the con itself... A lot of these artists aren't coming back =/ all around sales weren't too great. I only made back half of what I spent (like 330 out of 700). I think that's okay though. It's apparently not just us, it was just a shitty con for some reason. It usually isn't, according to other people who sell at it every year. But I think it's because this year they moved the con up a few months early and now it's competing with another con the very next weekend.
Anyway. I sold a few prints. Some people bought the entire MLP set. Lucina and Shiro were most popular. Even then, I only sold like 3 or 4 of those. I didn't sell many stickers, but Asuna and Link were most popular for that. Not a single poster. I lowered the price from 10 to 7 and still nothing. 99% of my profit came buttons. Fire Emblem and Pokemon were the main sellers. I don't know how many Lucina buttons I sold, but it was a lot.
So I'm glad I went hard on buttons that week. I made like 70 Friday, 180 Saturday, 80 Sunday. Something around that. I spent a hundred there haha.
It was fun and everyone was nice. I did trades with someone! Just one person haha she offered so I was happy. It didn't seem like people were really going around doing that.
The next con I'm doing is in Devember. A month from now. I'm not expecting anything at all from it, but at least I don't need to reprint. But after that, there's a con that a lot of people are going to in January. It's called Magic City Comic Con. I'm considering it... I wanna do as much as I can, and I think I won't lose as much profit this time since a lot of my expenses were one time only.
I will make a follow up journal! Probably tonight or tomorrow.

Aw sucks to hear your con had crappy sales too! Though I guess that makes sense about a competing con. For us, it was because Friday landed on Halloween and that was apparently really bad haha

I think 300 is good for your first con, too. Especially since most of that money came from one-time expenses like you said

- Yay good to hear about the MLP prints! And yeah it's okay, and my posters didn't exactly sell well either. So I know your struggle

- Yessss buttons bring home the bacon. Definitely a good investment ^^ I'm surprised you made the most money on Saturday, though I guess it makes sense since that's the height of any con. I just figured Sunday would be the best since that's when everyone does their last minute shopping but idk //shrug

- I'm glad you did trades!! Also good luck, you're doing another con so soon? I wish I could do the same ;v;

Oh yeah, somehow didn't think about that, but Halloween would be really bad for your con XD It's even more amazing you did so well then! You'd make super bank at a properly timed con.

-man that's a shame because posters is what I want from you lol I thought they'd sell instantly. 
-Was sunday your best day? Saturday was like doubly as good as sunday for me. But friday was the worst, only by a bit though. People were looking to spend their last bit of change on buttons sunday.
-Yessss gotta do ALL the cons. Gotta catch them all. I dunno, I just thought it'd be good because I need to make back my money, and learn, and stuff, yknow? Not sure if I'm doing too many or not but #yolo . (dA does hashtags now..... i don't get how it works)

Yesss I can't wait to see how other cons go~

- Yeah I need to figure out the whole poster thing. Still have no idea how to go about that >< I'm completely stumped. I'll probably ask about it in the Artist Alley International FB page. That's actually where I heard about BVC
- Hmm, not really sure if Sat or Sun was better. Still both days were significantly better than Friday though lol.

Did you have like a special deal for posters? I think a huge thing with posters is since they're more expensive, people expect some kind of deal. If you do prints are 15 each, 10 for the second one, and 5 for the third, you're really saying prints are 10 each, but the buyer only hears "omg sale!" I'm more likely to buy anything on sale lmao super easily manipulated.

Hmm I think I might have, it was two for $20 iirc. But yesss sales are great. I love how it works

Yep the timing was just really unfortunate this year XD Unless I cursed the whole place by coming there since I seem to have pretty bad luck lolol
