Just let them know about your situation when they are saying that it needs too long.
For example:

"I am very sorry that I need so long for the picture you ordered from me. Maybe you read my status post/journal about that I lost one of my family members.
It is very hard for me to come over it currently but I am still trying my best. I just wanted to let you know about my situation. Sorry for the delay."

I am sure the person will understand that if you will write it understandable to her like that! ;w;
