I can't believe you only have 45 watchers I thought you had at least 1000 or something. You have great art btw, its just so hard to really be special on this site. I have the same problem I don't have many watchers and I rarely get comments on my art even though I get lots of faves most of the time

Well, one can look at it this way: it's motivation to improve your skills.
I don't really understand Deviantart's socialization; knowing people and being friends with people, I think, can give you connections, and boost your viewcount/watchers. Catering to the viewers' likes--usually involving fan art or themes that most viewers connect with--can also increase your followers, I imagine. I've done very little fan art, and I dislike much of what people my age enjoy (mopey teenage boys either emo or conflicted with thoughts of suicide). Also the fact that I'm simply not VERY talented. It might be neat, but it doesn't have the oomph to impress the viewers, I think.
