Also, in my life my white tail deer would know little to nothing about the reindeer, as the live so FAR North. That's really the only reason the Yaks knew about them. They live up there too in the general area. However. The white tail deer would love to meet the reindeer if they ever got too meet and see the differences in the kinds of magic each group uses.

Hey there. Great question. I personally like it that they finally brought talking deer into the show. I basesed most of my characters on the deer in the comics led by King Aspen. They always talk in the comics, but you hardly ever see them in the shoe and then they never talk, probably because the show hasn't really had time to get around it yet. Now for the Christmas Special however, they were finally able to get to this idea, though of course the deer here are reindeer, but regardless. They talk, interact with the main cast and do stuff. Awesome, and its about time. Also from the legends of Santa Claus, the reindeer of Christmas have magical antlers, that yes allows them to fly. MLP just added a little more too it, and why not. If the reindeer's antlers are why they fly, the who's to say they can't use their magic for a few other things too, like unicorn horns.

Hey Nocs, I gotta ask, how do reindeer and such factor into your interpretation of MLP? I've been increasingly curious since I discovered in that MLP Christmas special that reindeer were added to the show, and used their antlers in a fashion comparable to unicorn horns. I was wondering if you had any thoughts about that stuff, or just in general how deer in your lore and these reindeer would interact? It's just kinda interesting to me.
