Welcome to ! Please feel free to submit any fantasy accessories you'd like, check out our rules & be sure to submit a piece or two for our icon!
Icon!Hey everyone!
Sooo this great new group needed an icon & I loved the idea of having one which displayed the work which our members have created! Unfortunately when I was ready to make it we only had two members - myself and our other admin :iconblackblossomjewelry: so it only displays her work and mine currently. It's not my intention to show off only my own work with the icon! I want lots of members works so here's my proposal:
Comment on this journal with a link to your best fantasy accessory (or several!)!
When I get enough I'll go through and pick out the ones which work best for a group icon and update the icon!
Thanks!
P.s. this is obviously for members only xD

Thank you for your interest! I will start selling online one day, but probably not for a few years. I'm not sure when I will sell online, but when I do, I will make a journal here to inform everyone about it.

Go for it! Wire wrapping is actually pretty expensive because of metal and stone costs, I agree. That never really stopped me from wrapping, though. It's a very fun hobby, I love it. Try every design you can think of, it really helps.

Sorry to ask another stupid question, but I'm interested in finding some Gem Shows/Faires, and I can't help myself to ask but... Where do I start searching for Gem Shows/Faires? Cause I'm in the way Crotch point of New York, and out here is just Country Roads, Gas Stations, and Rednecks... Oh! And we just have one store to go to!
Any suggestions on where to look? I heard I had to go to New York City to find what I'm looking for?
Always Appreciating,
Falkral D. Poe!!!

It's not a stupid question, don't worry! I find mine on gemfaire.com but some sellers I go to also have an etsy and/or an online website to order from. There may be other gem shows under a different name, just search for your city or town with "gem show" or "gem faire" too. There's also mineral shows that can sometimes have cabs too, so searching for that can help too. Shows seem to be about a 20 minute drive from where I am at, but if one is far from you it's possible you might have to plan a day trip or something. I've never done a day trip just for a fair so I can't really help out on that.
Hope this was helpful!

Your work is absolutely gorgeous! i was browsing through deviant art and I saw the picture of the opal pendant you made for your grandmother, and I was amazed, I had to see more of you work. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that you were only 15! holy crap! your work seems so completely professional, and i just can't even imagine how amazing your artwork is going to be years from now (we all grow and learn, no matter how old we get). I honestly think you have a beautifully bright future ahead of you, and if this is your passion, you need to freaking go for it, because I honestly think you can make it. (and that is NOT something I usually say, my advice is usually "it's always good to have a hobby, but do something practical".) No, forget that. If doing this will make you happy, then freaking go for it! I am routing for you! sorry for being a creepy and random total stranger, i just had to tell you how awesome you are!

Oh wow, thank you so much! I've loved jewelry since before I started making it, I would always be in the jewelry section in department stores just gazing at pretty necklaces. I found dA in the 6th grade and wire wrappers inspired me to go make some jewelry for once! I became addicted to it and this is what it turned into. Lots of people are shocked when they see a piece I've made, a friend this year said "I knew you made jewelry, but I never thought you were this good!" xD But thank you so much for the encouragement, I want to continue this hobby for at least 70 more years or so, perhaps turn it into something more.
Seriously. Thank you SO much for this lovely comment!

You are welcome of course, and i have to stress to you that this is not something i would normally say either. I've never seen planning to go into art as a practical life choice, except in extreme circumstances. I think you are one of those very, very rare exceptions. just make sure you remember the little people on your path to greatness, lol.

Your work is really maturing!
If you have the time, you should look into photo editing software. It can turn the good photos that you're taking into great ones, and your jewelry deserves it! I changed the levels on your green lab and came up with [link] in about 30 seconds.
Lemme know if you want any help with it

Thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it. And I think photo editing software is a good idea, I do really want to work on getting better photos and software would help. I think I'll look into it later tonight (after I do homework of course! ) so thanks!
