Hi. :) I'm Paul and I used to be the PROSE gallery director (a long time ago now).Nowadays I'm a professional researcher. I work for a non-profit educational research company as an academic, more or less, and I design and manage quantitative and qualitative research based on winning competitive tenders. So much of my writing is lit reviews, reports, evaluations and so on.
I'm still trying to write reasonable fiction. I also play with 3d art but I haven't put any of that on dA.

Hi Paul - I saw that you had come by my page so I thought I'd do likewise, and I'm glad I did. I enjoy meeting more lit folk, and lit folk from Australia. I've been published and received a poetry award there, so it's like my second home when it comes to word craft. How intriguing that you used to be a prose GD (or a GM if it was that long ago). Have you ever tried your hand with poetry?

My dabbling in poetry has mostly been in older forms - nothing modern or publishable (which I suspect could be said of most of my non-academic writing)
I visit pages but generally don't comment on poetry - I don't consider myself knowledgeable enough.

and yeah, a PhD is a long and difficult process for most (depending on your subject to an extent). You have to really be interested in what you're doing to stick it out. Though if you like writing (which is where most fall over) you stand a good chance of completion.

Your music is interesting.
Right now my main problem is that I might be forced to write my master's thesis in German, although English is not only my favourite language but also the scientific one. If I'd have to do this for the PhD, too, I don't think I'd make it.

I don't have one any more. had one in China because there I had plenty to talk about and time to write about it.
nowadays I wander in here just to check messages and say hi to friends, and I'm on facebook (where I play scrabble), and I play chess with Oliver ( ~jl ) and that's about it.
I'm on 60sox and humblevoice, but other than posting music from time to time, I'm not active.
