That jump from lines to colour threw me.

Unfortunately DA doesn't allow multiple images on the same page, but basically after I merge the lines and rough colors down, I start a new layer and start throwing colors roughly on top in large splotches. Β I start with mid tones, then blur and lower the opacity a bit. Β Then on a new layer I add shadows, blur, lower opacity. then on another new layer I add highlights, blur and lower opacity. Β I merge them all down and have a very rough base that has my colors/the general shapes and lighting. Β Now on a new layer I can start painting in details with a small brush.
