Hey, you alive in there? We haven't heard from you in a long time.

Yep, still alive! Just not producing as much art as I'd like to, what with a new job, exams, and to an extent my writing taking priority. I'm working on a few paintings though, perhaps some new characters sheets, redesigns of old things... I'm hoping to post something this week before school starts again
And another thing, which will probably sound really pretentious of me but it's not intended like that at all, I've heard from a couple of people that the community on here has gone downhill over the past few months. It's never been the greatest place (though obviously there are some lovely people!) but I sort of felt like I should stay away from DA for a little bit, at least until the drama there seems to be at the moment has settled down a bit.
It's quite nice actually; it means I do my own art without the pressure of wanting to post every day/week/whatever, which is what I was doing when I first started. I realised that it was probably an unhealthy way of viewing my art - as little more than a product that I felt like I had to show to the world (that sounds really obnoxious) to get watchers, and I quickly stopped enjoying creating stuff.
That's not anyone's fault but mine, and I am wanting to do more art, so I'll be sticking around for a while!

Cool! You do what you need to, whether it's posting once a week or once a year. Just was wondering how you were. And you don't sound pretentious at all! I have no idea about any downhill-ness or drama here, but I all I use DeviantArt fro these days is checking the people I watch ;-; so not an expert on the latest happenings obviously.
