Oh and, just noticed, the tag line (?) on your profile "The Goblin Queen", is that perhaps a reference to a certain movie starring a a lad named David Bowie and a young lady named Jennifer Conelly?... That'd be seriously awesome.

Hi! Nice to hear from you. Big picture: things have been well, despite some bumps in the road. I wish I could say I've been spending some time on writing, but I've actually been spending quite a lot of time on photography, which is wonderful, there simply aren't enough hours in the day! How have you been? Well, I hope! Busy creating?
Regarding "The Goblin Queen:" While I love the Labyrinth, the title is actually a reference to an incident I had in college. I was going through a pretty severe bout of depression, which included some pretty bad insomnia. My doctor prescribed me a sleeping pill. The first time I took it, I didn't realize how quickly it would take effect. I attempted to take it before getting myself ready for bed. My roommate reported that as he was attempting to help me to my bed I told him that I was the Goblin Queen and I couldn't go to bed because the goblins were going to war and needed their shields. I have a somewhat vague recollection of this, and always thought it was kinda funny. I also remember from my half-dream that the Goblins had this translucent green skin and were unbelievably beautiful.

Photography is wonderful, too, yes. Have been trying to create, yes, but am currently, artistically, not in the greatest spot. I'm not sure if I'm too hard on myself while looking, or don't look hard enough, but I can't seem to see "the" photographs. Other than that, most things are going quite well. As you said, bumps in the road, but generally well.
That is one interesting story no random passer-by would have guessed. Nice.
I don't know if you do traditional art as well, but an impression of one such goblins would be awesome. Or using that incident as an element in a story.
And I'm glad you like Labyrinth, too, haha. It's one of the movies I grew up with. Since I connected Jareth to songs I heard from time to time I didn't know the title or artist of, there always was this little voice in my head saying that it was Jareth the Goblin King playing this character named "David Bowie". Really a shame he passed before making a Labyrinth II...
