As for the sprite edits, I literally edit a base, pixel by pixel, in GIMP (though MS Paint would work pretty much just as well), to make them.

Haha, it's mostly about learning to see where the pixels should be. It gets easier the more you do it, cause yo start to see where things should be, and which pixels look weird where they are. It's actually a lot of fun...at least, when I have the inspiration. When I don't? Yeah, it's hell then.
