You may already be familiar with this artist, but some of these book sculptures made me think of your ATCs.

loved your poking through your gallery. Very inspirational! I only made 2 books in my papermaking class but plan on making some more once I accumulate more money and equipment.

Most of my books were made with almost nothing in the way of money or equipment, btw. If you work small, you don't need clamps or anything, you can use large paperclips to clamp them. Equipment: chipboard, paper, knife/scissors, needle and thread, paperclips.

lol sorry I was also thinking about papermaking too. I would need more stuff for papermaking. I could do a bigger book with out much depending on what kind of book I made.

Ah, true, that. Though I've heard you can do wonders with a normal kitchen blender, I've never tested this.

I have used one for gampi and kozo... but i have a really nice beehive all metal and glass blender that we got with wedding gift money. Its not going to be used for my art studio. I would get a not so nice and expensive one for the studio. I would need random other supplies that were provided by the school. Not that most of the individual items cost a lot... but you get enough $3 to $5 items it really starts to add up. I found some books while I was a library researching for a paper that had so interesting alliterative papermaking techniques. I would like to go back and check the book out when I have time

I just wanted to stop by and say that you're work is really unique and that you make me incredibly happy by being A Princess Bride, Mirrormask, The New Pornographers, The Decembrists, Neil Gaiman, jewelry, and fencing
Not often I find someone who likes a lot of the same stuff I do
Hope you don't mind if I watch you

Wow. You must be really into them, to make so many without the quality dropping.

The quality only gets better. Seriously, go back and look at my early ones, they suck. I'm always learning new techniques and whatnot.

my own cards have greatly improved over the last few months...i'm also constantly experimenting with techniques
(the microwave is suprizingly useful for scorching the edges of cards if you're really careful and have a fire extinguisher handy) although dyes (when used per instructions and as intended in a safe and sane(ish) manner tend to to be a bit less prone to suddenly combust or start leaking smoke. (sorry...it's that OCD/ADD thing again...awlays getting in the...Oh look! something shiney! )

Yeah, I noticed that, but they didn't suck; they just weren't as good as your newer ones.
Also, what are the "critters?" Are they drawings? Stamps? something else?

KatarinaNavane In reply to MyStranger [2011-10-30 17:27:00 +0000 UTC]
Almost always drawings, though I have made stamps of a couple of them.

glad you liked it...it is ome of the most complicated pieces you can play on the violin since it has double stop trills within it...personally think the cowboy hat seemed a bit odd but that just might be me...
