# About me

Started drawing since I was a wee lad. It was only a few years ago I bought a bamboo tablet, and discovered Coral Painter and GIMP. Never looked back at paper again! I'm a big gamer and movie buff. Anime and comics, get a lot of inspirations from all those mediums. I'm trying to create a hybrid of sorts between those 2 styles. Being unique and creative is what I really strive for.

Being emo, in a dark room cutting myself. Looking for inspiration jk. I know right, been a long while. Almost forgetting the basics of my old art programs long. Was working on my gladiator drawing but the severe laziness kicked in. Just waiting on my spark. Can't draw if not feeling it. Comes out crappy if forced. It's coming though. Feeling like a Harley Quinn mood again. That or start working my goth comic again. We'll see. How you been sir?

Not too bad, in case you haven't noticed I deactivated my facebook, mostly because it's such a consumer of time and it's the same ol' b.s.

I've been through a period where I don't feel like creating anything, it's good to fill in that period with learning or practicing. In the past I let too much time go without doing anything and fell behind with skills.

Keep working, you have a skill that I don't have, which is making shit up on the spot. I've let that skill go BIGTIME.

I used to be addicted to FB few years back. I give a 5min time limit for each visit a few times a day now. Boom, boom, done. I get no msgs from my jackass friends so I just post obscene RANDOM things just for kicks. What I use it for. Laughs. Yeah we're both being overly depressed as hell to not create stuff. Need motivation. I'm buying a 10 inch tablet. This year I'm going the conventions and show off my work to every random person. ONE of them has to be Stan Lee heh.

You have some ridiculously amazing coloring/ink skills. On par with some of the best in the industry. As for creating things from the ground up, your mind must be clay. Form the image in your head. Every detail. Then put it on paper and make it yours. I used to have real trouble putting characters into positioning. Never the right pose I wanted. Then I seen a small wooden unisex mannequin. I used that as a foundation then draw the character over it. Results were so improved.

You need to work on faces I would say. I would look at women crying. John K, the creator of Ren & Stimpy, draws the most amazing expressions. Great technique to study. Mark Crilley on YouTube help in the anime department. Impressive artist as hell. Todd McFarlane, Spawn, I "try" to use his inking technique. He's too damn good but I try. Once you find your muse, you'll be unstoppable my friend

thanks cuz, yeah, I think I need to work on poses and facial expressions, I need to stop being lazy and discipline myself to some of the basics.

Never heard of that "Issuu" web site. Pretty neat. Gotta try that. As for the comic, mind you I have ADD so following the story was something else but I got the jist of it. You have your finger on something here but too many people may call it Biker Mice from Mars meets Plagiarism Ahoy! The characters consisting of homages can work. I like it but who knows. As for the art, the lines need to be cleaner and it looks too penciled. Bolder inks show better. Can't wait for issue 2 but don't call it "Bitches", seems a bit misogynist and have to remember, there's female readers out there you wanna win over hehe.

thanks for taking the time to check out my comic! i really appreciate it, I agree with you that some people might find a "bikers mice from mars" rip off, but once you start reading you see that these characters are very far from them I only hope people give them a chance, out of curiosty perhaps. I will improve the art for issue two! promise!

JGioRod In reply to ADRIAN9 [2013-03-12 03:51:24 +0000 UTC]

No problem. I used to have this one character I really STUCK to as a kid. Called him "Shark Man!" He looked like Batman in shark gear. I felt he was awesome! But then realized those old school Jack Kirby characters don't fly these days. And why human all the time?

That's why if you check out my Origins comic in my gallery folder, the first few pages look "not good". I didn't know how to color. As the pages go on, it improves. Like a game, you learn a pattern. The Characters looks better.

So as you keep drawing those comics, procrastination and fatigue kicks in, believe me I know, artwork takes an ugly hit. But once you find the balance, keep at it. In story telling as well, your mice will kick ass! Look up Mark Crilley on YouTube. It helped my art a TON!

dude I did check out the origin comic, you have really improved from page 1 to page 23, i would recommend to improve the lettering too here is a nice resource for free www.blambot.com from nate piekos he is a great guy! and the hell with whatever trend is on, if you believe in your story just do it!

JGioRod In reply to ADRIAN9 [2013-03-13 01:09:13 +0000 UTC]

I knooow lol. The lettering was a disaster. I made the letterboxes on Microsoft Paint, then the actual text on another program. Now I have multiple letterboxes and fonts installed on GIMP. So should be better next time. Plus I'll check out Blambot. I did that comic in 2009/2010. I told myself black and white from now on cause coloring took 20yrs to do myself heh. And heck yeah about story. Did you copyright any of your material yet?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ADRIAN9 In reply to JGioRod [2013-03-18 20:12:29 +0000 UTC]

hey bro, yeah I copyrighted those, but I think there is one more step to go in order to do it internationally I have to work on that

JGioRod In reply to ADRIAN9 [2013-03-19 01:27:32 +0000 UTC]

Pfft. Copyrighting stuff is no fun. But it is simpler then I thought when doing it online, good luck with all that jazz heh. Should come together fine though once it's done.

Ever see the movie "Never Ending Story"? They have this mythical medallion called "The Orin", and a long past girl-friend suggested I use that handle for an old hotmail account and it just 'stuck'.

Heh that's funny. NES(not the system, Never Ending Story I mean. Well using letters to save time just wasted more time didn't it?? lol) was my favorite movie as a kid. I remember when the Power Rangers movie first came out, was 1995. I felt old even then going to see it but who cares, freakin' POWA RANGERS dude. Was the rage that time. And Mortal kombat
