For a very long time, I checked my notifications every two hours. Birthdays are announced on the site, so whether or not people leave comments is more an issue of caring than knowing.
So on and on I checked, hoping that more than a few people would remember. But lo and behold, my special day has passed by like the second Tuesday of February. My hopes have been shattered as casually as my ageing of a whole year in the span of a day has been forgotten.
