Moved my response over to the Note system. This isn't a grievance that needed to be aired in public which is my best guess at your underlying point, but then you posted this on my profile instead of doing the thing I did? We are reallyΒ bad at communicating things to each other...

No.
It's not like that i simply want others to read this story that my friend is trying to make.

Just some friendly advice: if you keep going the way you are now... you're gonna have a bad time.

Seriously, the last person to drop a random plug in this space got banned shortly thereafter, presumably for spamming. I didn't even bother reporting them, because I don't care, but at the same time that means I didn't even bother clicking on whatever your friend was writing. Also, does your friend know you're doing this?

CasualBrony999 In reply to HeraldOfOpera [2019-06-27 11:27:07 +0000 UTC]

I deeply appreciate the advice.
And to be honest even though you don't know me.
You should ban me. Not because i will spam, trust me i won't.
But you should ban me because from my past i am definitely not the best person in this fandom.
Or someone who you should associate yourself with.
I used to have so many people who were my friends but i abused them.
I have lied, cheated and broken promises.
I have betrayed and i have stolen personal information.
I have done some very... VERY horrible stuff.

But much Like Starlight or Trixie i am trying to repent for my past sins.
It's definitely too late to make up for ALL my promises. (considering the series and the fandom is nearly over)
But i have tried to make up for it.Β

And my friend told me to do this as a start.

But.... let me be honest.
I don't even know this story. Or the writer. I have never met them and i'm definitely not friends with them.

But my actual friend gave me a list of names and you were on it.
I was told to go to them and paste the same exact link and comment as i gave to you.

He told me that the writer of the story was "A mutual friend"

I don't intend to be disrespectful or forceful i simply am trying to help a friend's friend.
Because isn't friendship what this whole fandom is based upon?

But if you have a real problems please talk to my friend (and employer).
He is the one who told me to do this as a way to make amends.

"Given the username, it's possible they actually believe all this stuff. That said, the presentation is humorous enough to give them a pass."

He blocked me here, as it was to expect. Standard procedure of a Deviantart user who can't take the truth. And got a comment of mine removed on Derpibooru, in which I pointed out how he acts like a psychopath by constantly ignoring what I say and instead asking the same question over and over again (after I actually answered it already, just not in the way he wanted), so he probably has a friend in the mod team there.

After seeing all this, I can only conclude that this guy has some serious mental disorder. I've never seen such an obsessed level of stubbornness and ignorance before.

I'll just take on this "Apple Bloom 'Enigma'" in an analyzis some time later when I have more time to dig into it.

Edit: I just saw you were talking about Pony-Berserker, not Wild-Stallions, my derp. But it's still a good point. In a fandom where a pony comic artist who abuses the medium of pony comics to hate on the show in subliminal ways can rise to horse fame, it's not surprising that someone like Wild-Stallions feels encouraged to make up wild conspiracy theories about continuity errors and to trash talk the show that way.

There is unfortunately very fertile ground in the fandom for such things, much more than for actual analyzis.

It's not medically considered a mental disorder until it starts negatively impactingΒ your ability to function in society. Since we have little to no idea what this guy does when he isn't trolling, I'm not sure an armchair diagnosis is useful. (Also, you may not have seen it before, but you'll see it again. The likes of himΒ are a dime a dozen on the Internet, and even cheaper in parts of the US)

CMC--Scootaloo In reply to HeraldOfOpera [2019-06-17 15:47:25 +0000 UTC]

And they are dime a dozen here in the fandom too, unfortunately. I've seen them already, it's just the first time I meet one who is so persistent about it. Confirms my point that some only watch MLP: FiM to deliberately foulmouth it. One reviewer on YouTube even made big money with slandering the show on purpose to cater to haters who have big enough wallets to pay him for doing that.

And his ability to function in society is already negatively impacted. He has issues with having a proper conversation with people once they question something he says that he is deliberately convinced of, antagonizes such people and even goes so far to report them to mods to bring them into trouble for pointing out when he is wrong with something.

Social interactions are the most important ability to function in society.

HeraldOfOpera In reply to CMC--Scootaloo [2019-06-18 02:08:31 +0000 UTC]

It's a legitimate question whether the Internet actually counts as "society" in this manner. At the very least, trolling when there are no consequences for doing so is rather common, and doesn't mean you aren't also making money hand over fist. (PewDiePie trolls as a means to make money hand over fist, and he doesn't even restrict it to the Internet.)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CMC--Scootaloo In reply to HeraldOfOpera [2019-06-18 10:43:28 +0000 UTC]

What he does there goes quite a bit beyond trolling. It's an intentional attempt to hurt the reputation of a rightfully popular and beloved TV show. That's a matter that needs to be taken a little more seriously, especially considered that there are a lot who do that.

And to clarify, I was talking about Wild-Stallions when I talked about problems with social interaction. Though, I guess it wouldn't be too far off if one were saying the same about Pony-Berserker.

And of course the Internet is a society. A society is everything where a lot of people live together and socially interact with each other. A nation, the entire world, a city, a small village, there are societies in every shape and size. The Internet is a particularly big society, because it spans worldwide and nearly everyone is spending time in the Internet and "living" there to some extent. And considering the importance of the Internet these days, I'm surprised that people don't officially classify it as a "society" yet. But it probably won't take long anymore.

Oh and earning money isn't the know all end all about defining what functioning in society means. Just because someone earns money doesn't mean they function in society and just because someone doesn't earn money doesn't mean they don't function in society. I don't traditionally earn money right now, but I still function in society. There are more important values for that definition than earning money.

There's still the same basic reason I'm still not using tabbed chat in KoL: change is hard and they've given me the option not to. I see no new features and the removal of old ones, plus the whole "lag to hell even for the places where it works" thing caused by my decade-old laptop.

Okay, I'm pointedly not hiding that previous comment. Notice the lack of counterpoints to anything I said? Notice the lack of clarity regarding what they're even talking about? I legitimately have no idea what I did wrong, but all signs point to "nothing, this guy's just an idiot."
