Yeah I know. I'm more worried about my mom though; she's only ever lived without her for the 3 years we were in Philippines, so it's going to be the hardest on her. But hopefully she'll be okay over time.

As well as can be expected, thanks. I did GenCon last week in Indianapolis. In the first 24 hours I was hit on three times.. by two transvestites and a dude.. Being Hetero, this wasn't as uplifting as I would have liked. I think because of my Asperger's I learned to read people in a way that gives false pings on the gaydar.. Great con though!

Oh dear, that sounds like an interesting, yet awkward day. I would have been uncomfortable as first, then later on laughed about it; but that's just me. lol I hope the rest of your time there went better.

It was great. I'm generally not good with crowds and prefer to spend my time alone, so it's no small thing that I can stand in a building that's a mile across with 50,000 people and feel completely at home.

This was my third GenCon, working the booth for Palladium Books. Before that I went to a small local con a few times to run games, and I've been to every Open House Palladium has had (it's basically a convention in their warehouse). After my accident I went to VisionCon in Springfield MO because Kevin Siembieda and Jolly Blackburn were the guests of honor, and watched their tables on crutches while they did panel talks. Good times!
I've still been missing a major part of GenCon though.. the cosplay parade, panel talks and the parties. I work the booth or run some games, and then head back to the hotel across town to clean up before we go out to dinner as a group. Usually at least one night we hang out in someone's room with some friends we only get to see in person at the con. Being Autistic and artistic, I've often felt like a stranger in a strange land. Cons let me spend time with my people, and often remind me that I'm much more normal than I think.
