On the other hand to be blunt, I get it that it is hard to grow following and all but you know that feels a bit like self promotion to me and I am not certain how to feel about it. And sometimes a bit of nudge towards "hey there might be more to your liking" can turn single fave to follow... But whit linking the picture as well, I can't say about all who do it but if I were to do it the reasoning I would see for it would be "maybe some people who visit the profile will see it and come to mine." And as said, you and other people might see it completely differently. So please, don't take this as "hahaa, calling you out on your stuff" because that is not what I aim for, nor is this aimed as any kind of attack. More like pondering aloud what to think about the topic myself, maybe something I shouldn't do...

Anyway, the artwork is great, keep up the good work^^

Yea I doubt getting visitors to your page/more visibility like that would actually work, more like it is something I personally avoid due to it feeling promotional. A bit like poping into art stream to promote your own works in the chat or something... But yea, to be honest I don't mind too much actually, you do you, even if I personally wouldn't do it. And as said, getting following is hard, like really hard and whenever someone whit a bit of following shares my works it has ended up with spike in faves and watches. Soo out of curiosity, has it actually worked for you, trying to promote your work like that?

Yea I know, so do I when people fave my work. After all at least I, and I do believe you too, take the effort of making every piece as good as it can be so it is nice that at least someone, somewhere appreciates the effort enough to give it a fave^^

Yea, on the other hand, spamming faves/lamas just for the purpose of pulling new eyes for your own work, while most likely quite effective just feels somehow cheap to me... Oh well guess just do the work and improve and the following comes if it comes, no point stressing over it^^

Yes, that's quite a cheap method, and I just want to clarify I don't go around spamming people when they fav my stuff in order to get attention/views. I just do it for the sake of thanking and checking their stuff (whether I like it or not it's another story). I respect when people state they don't want to receive such messages so I hope that's not the idea you are getting from me because that's not my intention.

Gaining attention from your own merits is more valuable and genuine than using such methods. If you're good, people will notice it. Giving feedback and posting to groups is also a powerful tool for that.

Don't worry, I don't think you, or people thanking for faves in general are doing that and I do it for the same reason, to check out their stuff and to give my thanks. That said random lamas out of nowhere are more to the question, not saying all of those would be trying to get few extra eyes on their work but some of em might be...
And yep, very true words, taking part in contests has been good too^^

Yeah, I totally agree on that. There are even scripts to give llamas at random to many people at once. Exploiting the system like that it's very lame if you ask me. Getting attention that way is kinda low. And some times, I receive them from people that still have a lot of work to do to improve their art. Better focus that energy in making themselves better.

Thank you for your kind words. I never popped here on DeviantArt or on Twitter sadly. Currently I am gaining a bigger follower base on Instagram tho :3
So perhaps some of them will swap over to other social media profiles of mine from time to time as well^^

There is hoping, honestly social media/marketing side is still full on witchcraft for me, no idea how those work... Instagram has been somewhat promising for growing following slowly with time for me as well but uploading from computer to there has caused me to be quite quiet there lately... Just out of curiosity you don't happen to know elegant solution for that, uploading several pics into single post (like final+few wips or closeups or something) from computer?

It works only with an emulator, where you emulate an android system via bluestacks. When I tried it tho you just could upload multiple pictures in the square format into one post. I don't know if I overlooked smth and missed the option to upload the pictures in different formats. Perhaps I could help :3

I see, so the emulator really is the only way then... Not exactly the elegant solution I hoped for but I guess there is no helping it^^ Honestly I just hope they would add that functionality to pc, it's not like they don't have it developed already (even if they probably never will and I am just complaining about what can't be changed.)
