# About me
Hi,Thanks for giving my page a visit.
I'm no longer active in posting or blogging but feel free to have a browse at my old and poorly made tutorials/gallery.
You'll see they're mainly polymer clay, with the occasional dabble in soft materials.
I'm still more than happy to answer any questions, so feel free to leave me a note and I'll try get back to you in a reasonable time. You may have a better chance on my blog though since I've opted out of email notifs from dA.
Cheers,
-Cyn

Where do you get polymer clay from and how much? I'm from New Zealand too Β

Omg, sorry for the late reply!
I get my polymer clay online from zigzag.co.nzΒ
They are usually $5.50, and I find that's the cheapest in NZ for sculpey and fimo clays. I think you can get du-kit cheaper in stores like bunnings or stationary warehouse, but I'm not too sure.
If you're not keen on online shopping then I know whitcoulls sells Fimo clay for around $6-7 and Spotlight sells sculpey for $7 or so.
There are also other stores like Gordon Harris that you might want to check out ^^. They have occassional sales but in general, clays in NZ I find are in the $5-7 price range.

I actually still get my clay very dirty TT
But it always helps to regularly clean your working surface and hands... also, after baking, if I find any dust particles, I use the razor blade to cut them out or sand paper it away..
Sorry I can't help much.... ^^ ;;

I'm just starting out with polymer clay and I just have a really silly beginner question >< how do you pick up all your pieces without wreckage after you've moulded them or rolled it out? I try to pick stuff up with a razor blade but it's a 50/50 chance it'll fall apart. Getting so frustrated!

CraftCandies In reply to kus4gi [2013-05-11 08:18:03 +0000 UTC]
Ahh, this still happens to me very often ahahaha, but one thing I do if I don't want it to stick to the surface I'm working is to sprinkle corn/tapicoa/ whatever flour you have onto the clay/surace
Otherwise, when I need the clay to stick to the surface so I can add details onto it, I just use the razor blade method and angle my blade downwards so I really lift the clay off.
Idk if this will help a lot because sometimes, my creations still get out of shape when I use the razor blade... huu
